    Accidental boost with NHC250?

. There are all kinds of "wives tales" about fuel additives. Some work great, some occupy space, and a few are a complete waste. Personally I know nothing about Turbine Oil. I have a container trailer driver friend who is an independent. His truck. His maintenance. ANYHOW, he is firmly...

    M936a2 problems

. You have plenty of air according to the primary and secondary air gauges? You are on the other side of the country - but here we have had a lot of rain. Brake shoes have been known to stick to the drums in high humidity and rainy weather. A simple "love tap" with a 3# hammer on the bottom...

    HMMWV Insurance help please

. Insurance can be a ROYAL PAIN. Started with Nationwide. Flat out no for me. I kept looking. I finally had good success with Farm Bureau. They were a little more expensive than I wanted but I took what I could get - and kept looking. Spoke to the State Farm guy who my son has insurance...

    MakeReady the Family

. Welcome to the outfit! Post up some more pictures for sure like m715mike mentioned. Not sure exactly what planning you have in mind, but either digging in where you are - or knowing where you intend to go if things get bad are pretty dang important. Sure would be nice if it wasn't that...

    M936a2 problems

. You might also have a PCB box on the firewall going bad. There are a couple of solenoids and a board in that little box. There is a rebuild thread on here somewhere. AND, @kendelrio just had that problem on his 5-Ton Cargo and he has a thread with a video link that explains fixing it...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. It is really amazing to go to a muffler shop if they aren't overly busy. Having the right tools makes all the difference! The benders, expanders, and the guy who welds pipe all day can be really impressive to watch. I have heard that sound before. I had to go back and re-read your #9233...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Bet it sounds tough though. Those mufflers don't quite look like factory, but I couldn't swear to that. Definitely looks like freshly welded and installed...

M35A3 Rim Restoration and Tire Swap Project (Picture-Heavy)

. There is a definite difference in the quality of the Harbor Freight sawzall blades and some other brands. A good example is the Diablo or Milwaukee or DeWalt blades. They will make your saw run circles (literally) around the HF brand. It will be like you bought a newer, bigger, and better...

Found a M221 Tractor in Yuma, thinking of a rescue

. Wow m1010plowboy ... That is a nice looking truck! I couldn't imagine how much fun that might be. I like that body shape too. Stumbled across some reading about the 302 in-line six. It's particularly interesting when you think about the Chevy 302 v8 in 1967. To find the perfect...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Gee, I dunno. Maybe I am getting old... Or maybe looking at older trucks just "does it for me". Your truck might not win the car show - but I like it. Truck has Character!

    Rhino 5/4 RV

    86 M1008 Drum Brakes

. Yes Sir WWRD99 ! That sort of thing here can be a frustration. I am guessing up in PA, that wonderful Granular Truck Destroyer is used for months on the roads. Chews up everything made out of metal and I never thought about it - but drum brakes and those adjusters - Ouch! I have beat the...

    86 M1008 Drum Brakes

. Agreeing with @NDT ... You might have drums that should have been "turned" several shoe replacements ago. Possibly there is a ridge on the inside edge of the drum that is getting hung up on the shoe - as you try to pull the drum off. Backing on on the self-adjuster might solve the removal...

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

. Love that water trap for the overspray! Just a little bit of forethought before shooting. Very Cool!

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

. The hose in mine looks like a "regular" old AC hose. Doesn't look special at all to me. Not plastic like Synflex but that would work too - and that stuff supports 3000psi. Like you said, it is a long run all the way out to the back but at 30+ years old mine still makes lots of cold air...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

. My 89 Suburban with rear AC would cause everybody riding with me to ask for a blanket! Plain factory stuff and when the old air compressor died, the new one with the newfangled freon was a bolt-in fix. New dryer and a couple of other small parts and it worked almost as well. I was being a...
