Lots of potential there. Probably get it running in no time. Amazing how unless the immigrants can use it somehow, things just go undisturbed out there. By humans anyhow, I see the rodents have been busy.
The MVTs are much less likely to get cracked like that. If you're going to do a lot of high speed driving, I would replace what you got. Farm/trail/local use they are fine.
Define "a little gas". When I attempt to get a dormant engine running, I will dump about 1/2 pint down the carb. When it busts off, it will run for about 10 seconds with that much.
If you visit the auction results thread, you will quickly conclude that LOTS of bidders are assuming the truck will run based on the bids being much higher than scrap value. My GL reps tell me previews are few and far between.
Been there many times. The trick with the thumb over the hole was shown to me by a Mexican immigrant after I had wasted much of a day trying to get a 351W to run after being rebuilt. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
I vaguely remember the M75 is reverse rotation to a typical V8. Did the rebuilder use an aftermarket cam that maybe is all wrong? Is the starter aftermarket and turning the engine the wrong way? Do this: pull all 8 plugs, reconnect to the wires, and place on the intake. Grab the remote...
I am no expert but I think the limitation in the powertrain is the differentials. As the weight of the trucks has gotten more and more with uparmor, AMG had to progressively add oil capacity, cooling fins to the cover, and a remote cooling circuit. And this is just to survive 15,000 lbs GVW...
A 24 volt starter will not work with 12 volts, so it's pretty certain the starter is 12 volt. Looks like it in the picture. The batteries are connected in parallel to give you more cold cranking amps. Really not needed unless you live in the arctic.
The battery connections look really bad. Disassemble and clean the post to stud adapters and the terminals at the end of the cables. You have a 12 volt conversion, the two batteries are parallel connected.
hbear, here in the US we have what is called "certificate of title", it is a government issued document that contains the manufacturer, serial number, type of vehicle, and the name of the owner. No documents are issued with the vehicle that list anything about the engine emission or safety of...
