What brand of lights?
I have all Truck-Lite LEDs (head, tail, turn and marker) on mine and haven't had any problems at all.
Have heard about a flickering issue with some headlights.
First Ive heard about fading.

Unbolt the entire backing plate from the Axle and bolt on a complete new brake assembly.
You could ether go hydraulic or electric brakes just by whatever assembly you choose.
Of course with electric you would also need new drums, etc.

Dexter Axle makes complete backing plate brake kits for the hydraulic brakes. With or without parking brake.

Unless there's hidden problems, you did good on the price.
I highly recommend replacing the alternator as soon as you can.
The original ones are prone to failure and taking out other components with it.
When mine fried, it took the Power Control Box and ABS...
Are the Monroe 32283's the same size physically as the originals?
Is the NAPA shock bigger than original?
Side by side pic would be great.
I want a replacement shock as close to original performance as possible, not just cheaper.
Local stores have to order so no bringing old shock in to...
That setup will get you a ticket in all states when it's noticed. And that trailer will draw attention.
As mentioned, the chains need to be mounted to frame, etc for it to be legal.
That's Federal DOT standard.
