Ok
I assume they are a direct replacement fit?
I would have to paint them and get a black dust boot.
That's just me.
Last weekend was doing some dirt work on the ranch.
My brother was running the tractor and I wanted some fill dirt loaded in the M101A2.
Wasn't paying attention as I was...
Just curious
What is it about the Rancho shock that you like besides the brand?
What did the other shocks not do?
I believe that you usually get what you pay for.
Just how fast are you wanting to go?
The 5 ton isn't much faster. Tires are limited to 55.
No matter how well balanced, they tell you what speed they like.
I know some guys drive faster, but you still have to stop.
The faster you go, the harder to stop.
Cars love to pull out right in front...
That sealant they use is like peanut brittle, only sharper.
Some had broken up inside PCB.
When I rebuilt mine I took (broke) all the old sealant out and used black Aviation silicon to seal
it up.
Yea, sounded like marbles inside.
Rebuild was very easy and took about an hour.
All your issues are fixable.
Its not hard, just time consuming.
Doghead Starter Relay should have been installed first thing.
Then fix the rest, one thing at s time, as already suggested.
Post pics and questions here.
The knowledge base is greater if you share the process with everyone.
Pull it to a shop?
Rarely do they know how to work on a cucv.
I highly recommend you hold off on that.
Step back a bit and read up.
Take one thing at a time. It's fixable.
A shop unfamiliar with these trucks usually make things worse.
Post pics here.
Guys with amazing cucv knowledge are...
It's either work on it and buy parts like you mentioned.
OR
Have a nice big car/truck payment and have to take to dealer for someone to put the computer on it.
@ $90+ an hour.
My M1008 is extremely reliable.
Drive it everyday.
I don't buy cheap parts and replace or repair anything if there...
Mine originally had two boxes mounted on it.
They were only for venting.
Original A/C unit had already been removed.
The small A/C will work fine since the shelter will be in the shade most of the time.
Final preparations underway.
Gets placed in final spot Sunday.
Finished up some painting today
Its finally painted.
Took 1 1/2 gallons using a electric hand sprayer.
Powercord is for temp power (lights & fan).
Always have a light.
Wasn't going to paint until move finished, but I...
Will never work
Well maybe for STOL aircraft
One concept where the Cons really outweigh the Pros.
Speed for takeoff is high and the airframe has a lot of momentum.
You cannot bleed off speed on the ground, during an emergency, going in a circle, safely.
Even moderate lateral forces are...
Installed new shocks on tan trailer today.
1) Forklift damage.
2) Original shocks and longer travel Monroe 32283's, both fully extended.
The original ones were completely worn out. Zero resistance.
Trailer was riding on the springs basically.
Painted the new shocks flat flat black after...
Nothing like baking electronics in the sun.
No airspace around radio and dash mounted housing
Radios get hot
Sun is hot
Dash melts under radio
Radio fails
Glad OP likes it.
Definitely.....ummm....different.
Wonder if it still works after 7 years.
