I sold a few NOS factory CUCV 12v voltmeters a few months ago.
None of them had the resistor on back and worked perfect when plugged into factory CUCV plug that is 24v.
Guess they made later internal changes that allowed this.
Part numbers were same, just early to mid 90s manufacture dates...
I'm sure they are.
Stuff like that I just search for without looking up exact part number.
There were, when I needed one, quite a few used ones and lucked out and found all NOS GM parts.
Everything, including screws. Plastic was still sealed and very pliable. No rust on anything.
Those plastic spacers can be found on eBay.
When I fixed my horn, I found all NOS GM parts for the column and steering wheel.
Installed New ACDelco dual horns.
Flawless ever since.
M925A2
2012 RR Rebuild (bought 2013)
Truck was literally like brand new when I got it, including a full tank of fuel.
Been flawless
Until a few days ago when alternator fried and took ABS module with it.
Replaced PCB before that I'm sure was alternators fault.
Ive heard the stories...
I've been wondering about the BIN option.
Cant find it either.
There were several M101A2s a couple weeks ago that sold that way for good prices.
Would have bought a couple if I could have found out how.
They are called "swellmans" for a reason.
Of course the one that broke on me was the passanger rear.
No fun.
Been running Acdelco 60Gs since truck was born again.
Flawelss ever since.
Ok
Just back from alternator rebuild guy.
Whole thing is toast. Not just the regulator.
Now I need a brand new alternator and sounds like maybe ABS module.
Will still check ABS fuses and such.
I might get lucky.........
I did not.
M989A1 doesn't have ABS that I'm aware of.
But will of course try that.
Ran out of sunlight so obviously didn't get to check several things.
Reading some old threads, it sounds like the alternator may have spiked the ABS ECU with too much voltage.
Before I replaced the PCB, it would act up and for very short moments, put the VM in the red before I shut off truck.
Never Seemed like it was affected since it worked like usual...
