. Wow! The outside looks almost new. Really sharp for being a 50+ year old  .

    New M35A2 owner from CT!

Hi and Welcome eleven_mike ! Happy to see you join the ranks of happy owners of large green trucks :) Sounds to me like you have given it some thought and got a few tools together along with some seat time. Getting her ready to roll with fresh oil and some grease on her fittings is a good...

    Signature test

Seems that it is working. Says that you are the proud owner of a " 1970 AM General M35A2"

    5 ton owner...finally

. Well then... Welcome to Goliath P. Jones from North Carolina! Really nice looking truck, Heck, maybe you need to use the original picture and start working on your 2021 Holiday Greeting Card. That snow with the green monster looks really cool. Yes indeed, be sure to post of a few...

Just spitballing...winching out your own deuce while alone.

. Agreed! Crummy weather makes all of us do things we might not otherwise do... .

REALLY LUCKY. Don't generally believe in luck - but you were definitely in the right place at the right time. Those winch blankets sure seem like a good idea... They appear to drive the cable to the ground a little faster when it all goes wrong... .

What did you do to your deuce this week?

. Hi Tim, Guess that means that the next part of the project is to install those parts :) I thought maybe I was the only one who collects stuff, then needs to put it on - one of these days. Not sure how your weather is - but FINALLY we are starting to warm up here. Shade Tree mechanic-ing...

    Seat covers

Not only a great job like gem1410 mentioned - but how she just did it! Grab that woman and hang on to her! I am definitely impressed. Not just that she did the sewing, but then she installed the finished seats in the truck... Wow. Nice job on the sewing and installation and you have...

    M1088 camper conversion

. Definitely like the idea even better for the door and stairs! Heck of a plan! Sadly, I too work solo about 99% of the time. I guess that is why I have a forklift at work. It is the extra hands I need most of the time... And then there is the boom truck to raise things higher and further...

    M1088 camper conversion

Really Nice ckouba , Steps are really nice start. Hard to tell from this angle, but I am guessing the bottom of the tank lines up with the bottom step? And up on the deck (much later) there will be some sort of wall to keep you from tumbling down those steps in the dark :) Definitely a...

montaillou, I think you may have hit on a really good something to consider... It seems to me that there are two different kinds of drivers. Type 1: The driver who attempts to navigate anything. Mud, no problem. Water up to the doors, no problem. The person who sees a big mess and drives...

Changing the front cab mounts on the 1078A1

Spent a little time late last week on one of the nice warm days. Been spraying penetrating oil every day for about a week in preparation. Jacked over the cab by hand about a quarter of the way up... Happened to walk around the front of the truck - and on the passenger side - the bolt was all...

Guyfang, You are 100% correct. There is a reason and the high cost of learning the hard way was explained really well! --- Recovry4x4, Agreed! Those TM's can be dry and not very exciting as you said. But as you said - they are a great resource! .

    OH No Luck in Ohio

Not specific to State Farm or any other insurance carrier - but PLEASE - read your insurance policy. Make sure that there isn't a distance limitation from your "garage point". Lots of policies have a 50 mile limit. IF that is true, and if something goes wrong when you are 60 miles away from...

Parking brake in freezing weather mishap barley avoided

I finally went through my first cleanup / rebuild for the dryer. Several videos I watched were slimy and nasty inside. Mine was amazingly clean - like somebody had cleaned it. There was some sort of gritty little stuff on the exhaust or "spit valve" on the bottom. The seal kit was much...

    1954 M221 - new purchase

Guy, Heck of a great story and happy to hear that those trucks and parts are "under cover" in a pole barn. Maybe one day the others will need a new home as well... A real truck with a third pedal would be a nice addition for my toy truck stable one day. Tim

    1954 M221 - new purchase

Really Nice Truck!! I imagine it did a lot of good work for the tree farm when they first got it. Then the "old guy" who was doing that work maybe aged out and a diesel pickup truck took its place :-( You found a really nice piece of hardware! .

    Got my HET today!

Neat! Thanks for the info simp5782 . I still don't need one but it sure would be nice to have... At least with that 102 inch legal limit - I will be able to drive one without buying over-width Permits. Guessing the fuel cost to drive a HETT would be costly enough :-( Tim

Chucky, So, I had to add a "Haha" in reply to your message. Normally wouldn't have done that... Guess after figuring out that you didn't die and that your Pick Up Truck didn't get flattened - it appeared to be an okay day. Have to laugh to keep from crying almost... I keep thinking we...

    WTH, Found a tank today.

. Pretty amazing how satellites do their work. Apparently there is nothing of any real significance in that particular area as it passes over. There are places in the mapping software (available to us) that you can see people. Not especially faces or actually determining man vs woman, but...
