Official NC Denton Rally 2021 Buy/Sell

Thank You! I appreciate that a bunch!! Currently waiting impatiently for the Utility Locator service. Knocked down a few trees to make room for the parking lot (beside the parking lot). Hopefully with a little bit of grading and a water run-off pipe, next week there should get some gravel...

. Congratulations!! Happy to hear everything went smoothly and without incident. Now you can start working on a Sunday Drive every other week or so  .

MV of the Month - March 2021

. THANKS for running this show for us PB! It is really neat to see three more retired MV's join the competition. We appreciate you .

Official NC Denton Rally 2021 Buy/Sell

. NewEra, I could use a new (to me) battery box cover for an LMTV-MTV if you have still have a spare for sale. Went out to open the battery box on my truck and got a hand full of fiberglass. Guessing that would be great for the criminal element, but I sure would like a smooth one if you still...

    Load out at Chambersburg, PA

. Like most things in this old world... ASKing will get more results than DEMAND or TELL. Be a *rick, and you might be treated the same. Nothing specifically to do with a loadout, more being a reasonable human...

    Air leak/bleed down

. Thanks Wes! I did some quick math. 120# divided by 5# (of loss in 3 minutes) = 24 units of "3 minutes of air loss" That comes to 72 minutes to zero air with the truck off. Is my math bad or is that just minimal functional levels of loss? Assuming the leak is beyond the PPV (Pressure...

    M1088 camper conversion

. Swing of the overhang is no problem at all for me. Being alert to it will make you do the right thing. Where it was bad for me was when the truck was loaned to a perfectly reasonable person that took a turn a little too tightly and the steel bumper on the Civy truck knocked the plastic...

Official NC Denton Rally 2021 Buy/Sell

. I would like to speak up for several 5-Ton Snatch Blocks. No such thing as too many of those things if it all goes bad. Definitely would like to have that large green one for sure and at least three others. Just PM me if you want PayPal money now or I can bring folding bread at the Rally...

    Air leak/bleed down

. That is great! With your truck off - and if you have a steady leak - with your compressor attached it should make your chances better. Even with a noisy road nearby you might find the problem before you break out the soapy water. More so if the leak is inside the cab...

    M1088 camper conversion

Hi ckouba, I am going to repeat (echo) the comment from coachgeo: You really need to give some real consideration to that part of your bix beyond the rear tires "swing" when you turn left or right. In tight quarters, you could easily take out another vehicle, a tree, or a building with the...

    Air leak/bleed down

The really hard part of finding a leak on one of these trucks is all the noise that happens around you while it is running. Best plan - if you have a compressor - is to attach it to the driver's side (front) glad hand. Get a glad hand and a quick connect to make it easy on yourself. Hook that...

New Purchase Globe 10 ton trailer

I would think that would be enough weight. Guessing, but that much weight in a small space should help achieve the goal. The drawings that I have seen look a lot like the back of a 5th Wheel wrecker boom. Connection point one is the King Pin, Connection point two is the left and right frame...

New Purchase Globe 10 ton trailer

Strangely enough Toby, five hundred pounds isn't bad at all for a pretty tough bottom for a weight box. More than likely that much or more steel around it would be required to close it on 4 sides. Then another several thousand pounds of weight in the box to create enough down pressure on the...

Ship by rail/train? (AZ to FL)

. Wow Ferroequinologist, Somehow I knew the answer was as you stated. Guess when the Army or the Marines ship 40 or 60 flatbed rail cars allow for a better deal. Especially when there are 4 vehicles or more per rail car. Guess those cars don't get parked on a railyard unsupervised at night...

MV of the Month - March 2021

You don't think it might be a very small truck with a star on the door... Could it be? Maybe possibly!? ;-)

MV of the Month - March 2021

. PapaBear, Maybe you can award an extra point for every day that one truck is out there on the Truck Of The Month post all alone. That could be the incentive to be first, fast and furious

Thanks Frank! I don't own a M135-211 but I couldn't resist downloading them - just because I could. Appreciate you hunting them down for everybody! Tim

MY 1952 M211 GARWOOD CRANE TRUCK

Welcome from North Carolina! Mechanical is just so neat... No oil to filter, no drips and leaks. Definitely like your truck. Yes sir. A little paint on it and that would take 20 years off for sure. There are bunches of TM's here for the winch, the truck, and even a Technical Manual for...

New Purchase Globe 10 ton trailer

Hi tobyS, That metal plate with the King Pin on it... About how wide and long is that? Just wondering if that could be made into a weight box to go on the 5th wheel on my tractor. That would make hauling a pintle trailer a LOT safer if the tractor has some weight on the back tires. Just...
