For 100k the IH should have had a bigger motor. My 2009 GMC has a six speed Allison and more tq./hp than that tweeked. PT Barnum said it correct.
Agreed not a daily driver with family.
Rusty is correct and if you ever tried to drill through a Deuce then a 5 ton frame the difference is night and day.
I only use annular bits and the Mag drill on the 5 tons.
Yea I am thinking mine is the ring and pinion to. I used the hand feel it gage not a feeler gage. Dial indicator would be the best way maybe. Don't believe Steve ever said a feeler gage. I used a black marker and marked the gear then just watched the movement. In the old days with a motor with...
You want to repack you inner bearings and the CTIS seal are easy to change if you like the CTIS system. So yes if I had a working CTIS system I would change them out and be done with the hubs for your life time.

I just read one that says it looks cheaply done. I don't know if I agree.
How can you not agree that the frame is much thinner. It was never meant to hold up or take the pressures of a truck. My book cheap way to get a body lift and I bet the DOT would agree.
If I had to chose one from all it would be a 809 series cargo with a trailer. A Deuce is cute but a 809 series rules.
You can add the big 53's no problem, True power steering and with the manual transmission if you got something to drag it she will run.
Just hope you saved the beans for dinner. Yes any of the FMTV hubs seals can be done without the correct tools. I got my seal driver before I found this out. In some cases seal drivers can be very helpful.
I will bet all your inner bearings need repacking so go deep and be done with it. My biggest fight was pushing on the hub with those tight hub seals back on the spindle. On any other type of truck I have done the hubs went easy. Myself as soon as I can get the outer bearing in and put the nut on...
Let me look around the Green yard. I think there is a double end cable that you just have to cut off the end you don't need. Just pay shipping.
I looked and it's not there. Sorry
Looks good. Think I would do something to keep the rear sag a bay. My International wrecker has steel blocks on the axle just incase it needs to grab something just a little bit heavy. Maybe air bags added. Your axle can handle more but not your springs can't. As for the stinger just hope no...
Hope all works well. Would be interesting if the button retainer tabs could be longer and extend under the plunger spring locking it in place instead of a friction fit. As the threads have talked about I believe the clip was designed just to hold the button on long enough to install the Head...
All of mine were finger tight when I opened it up. I was able to get the 20 on most of them and not have to back off one spline. Sure seems like it should be tighter. I did notice on one of the outer bearings it looked like the bearing was spinning on the spindle because of not being seated...
