For sure they are M34 Reo combat rims. Would have had 11.00-20 NDCC tires mounted originally. Only the first few thousand 1950-51 M34's had these rims, as they were too expensive for Uncle. Today they are as rare as hen's teeth.
Some deuces got that treatment during the 1980's, ie single tube type radials using the stock rims on flipped rear hubs. Looks a little tippy from the rear.
I think it is part of a power distribution set, there should be waterproof boxes with standard 110V receptacles that attach to the Cannon plugs as part of the set. The other end connects to a weatherproof distribution box with breakers inside.
Need some advice from those of you who have been down this road. GENSCO here in Houston has some great deals on both the 5 ton bolt together rims used on the 900A1/A2 series trucks and the bolt together HEMTT rims. They seem to have different offsets, by about 3" maybe. Which do I want to use...
It's a WWII 1-ton for sure, just has the 6 hole Budd axle and 7.50-20's swapped out with the civi axle. That trailer looks like it would restore nicely, just a little cancer in the front.
The motor mounts are not the same. All the lamps can be re-bulbed to 12 volt except for the blackout drive lamp, unless you cut it open. Your no idle issue sounds like a vacuum leak, check for blown diaphram in the vacuum booster pump. If it dies because of flooding, check the rubber o-ring...

Welcome to the site. Are you sure the first digit is a 2? The MD is correct. The M38A1's assembly run from 1952 to 1968 was mostly unchanged, except for the pivoting front grille and battery box cover. So you can say "I have a M38A1" and will get the right parts.
Complete agreement on the crane remove and motor swap. The ancient Cummins is not correct anyway, and you would have to own ExxonMobil to afford to run the original gas Hercules HXD, so I would go with the latest model 10-12 liter engine with mechanical injection and no intercooler that I could...
