That sounds familiar... Here in Charlotte, the 1d10ts roar up and down the city streets - occasionally blowing by a city cop. Twenty or thirty of them at the time taking over two lanes of a four lane street. I can only assume that the politically correct Chief and City Council have instructed...
Not so sure about the "stupid" HN6. After all, you survive living in Alaska...
When I describe that situation, I call it too "hardheaded" or maybe too "stubborn" to give up... Definitely not stupid. Heck, if that was the case you might not have the wherewithall to actually fix the problem...
There is nothing like having a stash of nuts, bolts, and brass fittings! More often than not what I want is in one of those coffee cans. The little plastic drawers couldn't hold the quantity - so I upgraded to coffee cans and peanut butter jars. ;-)
Those panels look good! Nice job Floridianson ! First class lighting in that trailer for sure.
We replaced our ballast lighting using tubes in the existing fixtures here in the print shop about 6 years ago. It is SO nice to just have light and zero maintenance. Power bill is less too...
I am not scared by much, but when I found that after towing a big heavy trailer for a friend - it made me take a couple of deep breaths!
FANTASTIC that you got some good words from the manufacturer! Even so, I would definitely give it the "evil eye" on a regular basis. Visual inspection is...
Just remember that the Large Drop puts a lot of strain on the metal it plugs in to. I have a foot of drop on the one on my truck (when I got it) and it is UNSAFE. The welds were done right. Plenty of strength in the metal used, but the trailer that was being towed was heavy. Look closely and...
Hi Vince and Welcome!
79 was a really good year. Same year I joined the Navy... Somehow I didn't have the commitment to stay for 20 though. Son is signing his 4th re-up, so it looks like he has his twenty in the bag.
There are Technical Manuals for your MEP here and Guyfang is absolutely...
Understood. I wasn't trying to do anything sneaky, sly or underhanded. Don't believe in that sort of stuff...
THANKS for the link though. Who knows. Maybe that is a good spot to watch and see what happens. I buy toys for me, so sometimes I "lurk and learn" before jumping in and bidding...
Wow! I need a dump truck with a monster plow on the front of it like I need a hole in my head, but dang that sure is a decent price! And no reserve... Is that normal for that particular auction company? Is that something you had considered bidding on?
Tim
Some of the very old 40's and 50's vintage winches have a place where rather than a hole and set screw - there is a place for a Crosby Clamp on the side of the winch drum to secure it. As recommended by simp5782 ,even if you do have a clamp rather than a set screw - you want to leave a "full...
FINALLY got my passenger window repaired. It would "kinda work" sometimes. Crank it up and about 4 inches from the top it would stop. Window had popped out of the track that supports it. I have broken so many things being too aggressive over the years - so I finally asked for help. Suprman...
Turned out that the bolt was through and into the tire, but a "MonkeyGrip" plug has been holding steady for about two weeks now...
NEW QUESTION:
Spare Tire sitting in the rack. CTIS connection is just hanging there because there isn't a connection for it... My spare is FLAT. Should it hold...
Great! Glad you got what you needed :) I found mention of a window stop in my 5-Ton "-24P" Tech Manual. Part number is below.

Sorry. I thought it was there. I will poke around and see what else I can find... In the mean time, a video exists on YouTube that has a pretty good picture of what you are looking for. No part number - but it looks like something you could make.
Search YouTube for:
M35/ M54/ M809/ M939...
The attached PDF on Page 330 has a diagram of the window regulator and associated parts. Page 331 has a list of part numbers. I think I see the "stop" on that picture - but I could be mistaken. Best part is that the PDF can be enlarged so maybe you can make your own "stop".
EDIT: Discovered...
Congratulations on your win sir! Mighty fine truck.
I got to run one of those for an electrical contractor that had (if memory serves) a 30 foot boom. Could have been 25 and about 3 feet for an auger that measured twelve feet across and about four feet tip to connector bold. We used those...
That is definitely good news sir! I have a puddle under the center of the truck about the size of a Frisbee. Not awful, but definitely in need of a fix. THANKS for the pointer. At least I have an idea where to start looking. And the good news really is too. It will be nice to fix something...
Bummer... Today I took a few minutes and went outside to look at the lift for my spare on my M1088. Decided to lower it to the ground and see how it functioned.
Got it most of the way there. Hanging out over the side of the truck, then I noticed that it was "stuck" on the (factory) tool box...
chucky You mentioned that you know how to email pix from your iPhone. Heck, send them to me and I will post them up for you. I'd be more than happy to post them and label them as your pictures... Send me a PM and I will give you an address or my txt address to send them to?
