Looks great. You might try running the gin pole guy cables over the cab back to the pintle. That's how I do mine. Looks like you have to roll down the window to open the door the way you have it now. Also, watch out for garage doors and low hanging power lines! Real easy to forget the...
Can you define "terribly uncomfortable"? A Steel Soldiers member was selling new ones a while back and there was a long thread on it, search "MRAP seats".
If you don't know it already, you have a hard to find USMC M37, see the lifting brackets near the rear bumperettes and the "paper clip" lifting loops welded to the front bumper halves. See if the "responsible agency" data plate says "Marine Corps". Your truck was painted 34052 lusterless...
Welcome to the site. I was born in SF and love to visit all the mil sites all over there, especially the missile sites across the Golden Gate bridge on the Marin Highlands. Quite a few mil trailers, etc on display there. Good luck on the CUCV search.
Let us know if you need support here in Houston over the weekend. Swing by the Military Museum of Texas, take 610 east loop north one exit north of I-10, exit Wallaceville, turn west, about 1/2 mile on the right. Deuce is spoken there!
How are the frames on your trucks? I just looked at some more trucks that spent many years in the piney woods and the double frames are a disaster. The rust is between the rails and has caused great deformation of the steel.
Back on subject. Is this palletized, forkliftable item, or a vehicle? If it can be forklifted and fit in a van trailer, ask the facility if they will load a motor freight line for you. If yes, either contact a freight line directly or have a transportation broker book the item for you. If...
Thanks for posting the pics. It is a little unusual that there are no plates or registration stickers on the truck. I would assume NM laws would have to be followed even on a reservation.
Beautiful country there in the background.
My first M172 was set up just like the pic in M1075's post. It used a 12 volt hydraulic power unit like you would see with a snow plow or wrecker. I thought the ramps sticking 10' up in the air looked retarded and cut the whole mess off and went back to the herniated disc method.
Thank you thank you for posting about this!!! I want to do the same thing in my CUCV but am a bit nervous about how things will work out. Can you advise: What kit did you use? How does the shifter which is R-N-D-2-1 work to control 4-3-2-1? Does the kit need any 12 volt connections? Does...
That floor mat did not do the floor boards any good. Most 09's I have seen have the mat removed. I would sandblast the floor and then put patch panels over the holes before I would cut out the entire floor. After you rhino-line and paint everything, the patches are not easy to detect.
Great info thanks! I would like to add my 2cents to this, I have two of these trucks and on both, the generator wires were touching the exhaust pipe and the insulation was melted through, causing a short. I think faulty installation of the wiring on these trucks is the cause of the inevitable...
