Is only one of your trucks like this? Is it a PTO generator truck or Hobart? What are the miles? I just unbolted one of these beds and the sub-base is aluminum channel that looks really strong, but apparently not the case! Thanks for posting!
Carefully add up what it will cost you to do the recovery by yourself and hired out. When you add up fuel, hotels, contingencies, you will find it is a wash between the two options. Unless you have a roadside uh-oh, then you will be wishing your truck and trailer was riding high on a Landoll...
I've got a M275A2 (Deuce tractor) with 200 hp LDS, and with a 10,000 lowboy and 26,000 cargo, the truck is completely at the edge of it's capability for highway use. I upgraded to a M915 before someone got hurt. If you are an OTR pro you know there are no exemptions from USDOT regs for...
Sounds like the linkage between the accelerator pedal and the transmission is not adjusted properly, and full throttle is being mistaken for kickdown. Disconnect the linkage and see if you get normal shifting.
The supply of these trailers is huge. Just an estimate but I figure that for ever five deuces there is a 105 trailer.
I think it is the other way around. For every one deuce there are 5 M105 trailers. It's like the government used these along with camo nets etc as welfare programs for...
The front tow/lift shackle pins on a M915/A1 are 1.5" dia. The feet will have to have 1.75" spacing to fit over the shackle bracket. Austin on ebay has the feet. Streetbike put the medium tow bar ends over the 915 shackles without using the medium feet. Not the best solution for a safe tow...
I suspect the opposite is true on the 400s. The stock color seems to be black, and when the engines went to Cummins for an overhaul, they came back tan.
You got a nice Jimmy there. Pretty sure it is one that Southeastern in Augusta imported in the 80's from Norway. As you can see it has the remnants of the original wood bed. Keep that as you can use the steel parts to rebuild the bed! Too bad the owner did not keep it in a shed, then the bed...
Nice truck! Those are getting almost impossible to find in good shape. As much as I like stock vehicles, if you plan on using the J10 as a daily driver, the 360 and the marginal fuel economy that goes with it may not suffice. I would put the 360 in the corner of the garage for a future pure...
The rules are the agency has to use the property for 18 months and then can do with it what they want. My CUCV came from a local PD, they sent it for local auction along with the worn out Crown Vics. The program where the vehicles have to be returned is Forestry. I would ask the Chief if...
