I've used the medium tow bar to tow DUKWs with no issues, don't use the feet, just put the end of the tow bar over the tow shackle on the front of the DUKW, extend out the tow bar somewhat, and go. I found you can tow it faster than it can propel itself.
Well the inspection must not have been from the local environmental agency, because they would have had a fit over dumping all the oil out on the floor and then using absorbant to clean it up and send it to the landfill, where it will leach into the groundwater for the next 1000 years.
Barrman is right. They were fragile back when I started messing with M715s in 1980. The fiberglass must have been really poor. The truck will cool just fine without it, and few judges will ding you much for that being missing, if the rest of the truck is 100%.
M16ty and emmado22 you guys are absolutely correct and I was wrong. The winch is plumbed in series with the steering gear after the winch. Port "P" on the valve is the high side. The Milemarker website has a good troubleshooting guide with plumbing diagrams in the "military" section.

Guys help me out here, what all was/is available to our troops in this regard? I know about the mermite can, those aluminum 4 foot square? ice boxes, and skid mount walk in coolers and van reefers . . . Anything else? I ask because I just spotted a nice Igloo brand huge plastic cooler in OD...
Yup. The vin is actually 3009. But on the data plate from when the trailer was overhauled, the depot had stamped NXOECC3009, which is the registration number combined with the vin. Since it was already stamped this way, that is what I put on the request for SF97. I think in this case the...
Civilian lowboys have used this tire size since the 1950's. Hundreds of them were sold on the rim at Red River (Hooks, TX) last year. I got 10 for spares for my M172A1. If you Google the tire size you will come up companies with manufacture them new such as Michelin, Toyo.
