Kubu did that also with a 900. I'm sure he will chime in. I have looked into this as well and my transpotation broker said 6 grand door to door. After paying only 2K to get trucks here from Europe, I passed . . . Good luck Justin!
Paul, usually I agree with you but not this time. For instance, I specifically look for army trucks with no titles, because that is a haggle point to drive down the price. Caveat Emptor applies to everyone else.
Holley 885FFG. Memphis Equipment should have a kit. Nobody but a military parts house will have this. Brian Asbury in Ontario may have them as well, 519-853-1738
Welcome to the site.
Welcome to the site, welcome (in advance) to the colonies, have fun at Disney. Specifically what parts are you looking for? Some come from GM dealers, some come from any "spares" store, some come from specialty GM supply houses, some from military surplus "breakers". Make sure to see the...
The alternator contains 6 diodes that convert alternating current to direct current. These can fail for various reasons, most often being connecting the batteries with reverse polarity. When they fail, they can fail to a direct short, which will ground out the positive alternator connection...
What usually fails here is the aluminum housing on the worm side will crack open like an egg. To me it seems the aluminum pin breaks far before 10,000 lbs of pull is achieved. I use a grade 2 bolt (no markings on the head) and no exploded winch yet. I have broken the bolt many times.
I did some searching and no I can't find the fuse box layout either. I will assume you found the wiring diagrams in appendix F of the -20 manual. You can sort of figure out which fuses are for the lighting circuits. For sure you can put your lighting switches back to stock, the switches and...
I have been kicking this idea around as the CUCV II 's are very scarce. A Tahoe version sold last year on Ebay, I think it came from GL in Montana. Not much is different on the Tahoes, mainly the front and rear bumpers and a blackout light. I believe these trucks were built as CUCV II's on...
My 880 trips the circuit breaker just like yours with a trailer running the headlights. I have a wire spliced into the lowbeam wire near the battery with a alligator clip on the end, when I am pulling a trailer at night, I just hook the clip to the battery post. Crude but it works.
Welcome to the site Ashleymaree. All the info you will need to keep your truck running can be found here. Start with the WIKI section, found at the bottom of the list of forums. There are links to the military manuals for the truck, which contain the schematics. Also, use the seach function...
Pinch the heater hoses shut with vice-grips if things get worse while driving. Not using the heat won't releve the pressure on the leak, so at least stay warm.
"I think my tranny went out today. I was driving down the highway and the tranny started making some loud noices. I have been noticing for the past week that when I have been driving it that there has been a large whine comming from the tranny when I let off the gas expecially in 5th, but when i...
Oh I see, so we can buy a $1200 GL 1009 Blazer with an oil change for $8995, plus $699 to get it from "the ranch", plus $299 title fee. Y'all must have a good supply of suckers up there.
