As far as having it hauled, with the outer duals removed it is not overwidth, and is basically the same footprint as a deuce, so figure on $1.50 to $2.00/mile, the usual rates.
Me thinks the o-ring started life round, but has "taken a set" as they say. I got my o-rings from a industrial supply house that specializes in o-rings for every application. They will want to know dimensions and material to match it.
PTO aperture = PTO plate = PTO hole. Power tower is the correct term for "splitter box". I'm sure you can mount a wet kit, but I am not clear on the amount of shaft hp that can be transfered by the transmission PTO. Every oilfield service vacuum pump I have ever seen has been a big son of a...
Snarky you are being really optimistic. If the truck moves forward when in neutral, the transmission has some serious issues.
Bondo, if the racket goes away when you mash the clutch, then you can eliminate the clutch as a problem. Nothing is spinning in the transmission when you mash the...
I checked for you, there is a PTO aperture, it is pointing towards the driver, with about 6" of room between the cover and the floorboards.
Every vacuum truck I have ever seen has a driveline PTO, i.e. a splitter box between the transmission and rears. There is no room for this on this...
Almost all of the common collected vehicles use either the endless band track (halftrack, weasel, Cletrac) or steel track with the rubber molded in (M5 Stuart, M5 High Speed tractor, Sherman). The M113 APC and other more modern AFV's have pads, but there are very few of those in collector...
Please post pictures! Welcome to the site. What are you asking for the tracks? You will know if you have an A4 because it is wider than a M5 at 9 feet 7 inches. It has extensions welded to the tracks. Also has doors all down the sides.
Nice resto Hellonwheels. The picture is a AN/GRC-8. This is with interphone amplifier. These radios are available from various sources, the old standby is Fair Radio Sales. ida34 is correct, to transmit with one of these is not legal.
Nothing special about the 2 1/2 ton axle, it's just bigger than the Dana 60. Just tear into it until you find the exploded parts and then get ready to give the credit card a workout.
I think the AN/VRC18, which consists of the RT68 Receiver/Transmitter, PP112 power supply, and R-108 Aux receiver. This is 1950's tube type equipment that operates on FM 38-55 mhz. The radio cases have "bumps".
Uh, 1 ton = 2000 lbs last time I checked. emr and others, how did this turn into a CCKW vs G742 thread? Both are kick butt 6x6's. Paul is correct, CCKW's were authorized huge overloads on the Red Ball Express and other supply lines during WWII. After the war, here in the US, the surplus...
