Be aware that the late M1031's with the PTO driven generator does not have a welder built into the generator, you still have to have a "buzz box" in the truck.
Yes, please post pics of the batwings raised and the machine shop all set up.
What a great story and photo essay! Thanks for taking the time, I know how sometimes you can forget to take pics in the middle of the action . . .
FYI, the Grote line of military lighting is now available thru WW Grainger Industrial Supply, the listing is in the new #400 catalog on page 961. They have front and rear composite LED lights for about $140, LED BO drive lights for about $90, and reflectors for $6. The lamp-units are plastic...
Anybody end up with one of these Keco 1.5 ton A/C units from Tobyhanna today? For $200 before shipping for 4 units that appear to be new, I couldn't resist. But it looks like only 5 or so out of 200+ sold. I know they are 3 phase, but are these things some kind of lemon the gov't dumped...
Back when I was young and stupid I would drive the local civil defense M-37 against the governor at 52 mph all day, that is until it would vapor lock and leave me on the side of the road for 10 minutes.
Love your stories. Amazes me all the support you get from the installations.
Looks like I will be heading your way soon, I won the Ft Sam lot today with the windshield, hard top, troop seats and pickup topper.
Where was the circus wagon? That is WWII.

GSAauctions.gov There are always 5 of them for sale, but they are all fire dept turn in's and they are not too nice most of the time. None come up on GL anymore, except for the very rare occasion.
Looking good. The 5 ton tandem is rated at 44,000, but the super singles are only 9000 ea. I think a 931A0 with dual commercial tires could move the weight without fear of blowouts, and having a 'gator come in the cab with you through the soft top. That would hurt.
If the truck had hit hard enough to break off the front axle, the tires would be flat and the rims bent. This is a case of some mechanic taking things apart and not finishing the job. Do a forum search for "Unimog", I have read that the core SEE truck is the same as a standard Unimog...
If GL isn't there, make sure somone will load the truck, or make sure the trucking company understands they have to load. If the DRMO says they will not load, then you may be stuck sending a rollback with winch so the driver can self load. Don't send a RGN trailer and expect the truck...
