Just picked up a couple of these. Seller has 8 more available. They shipped free, included gasket and thermostat housing gasket.
I have no interest in this, just passing along the source for those who might need one or a spare for the shelf.

One of my 803a sets bogs badly to the point of stalling when resistive load of 75% is switched in after about two minute warm up.
When first starting,it seems like it has low compression and takes several seconds to fire up and come up to speed. I understand that there is a delay to build oil...
For the guys here who have rebuilt or changed out generator heads, have any of you successfully found a source for the end bearing on the 803a?
I might be tearing this generator head down in the future, I will be in need of a replacement.
Has anyone here cross referenced the part # 510-0112...
Not sure if this is widely known knowledge among 803 owners but if you are using K1 as your switching relay to apply a load that is directly connected to the load terminals without breakers or switches further down the line towards the load you are stressing the K1 contacts and shortening its...
I've got one unit that runs fine with two 5400w dryer elements connected in parallel but my other one is tripping the overload circuit within a minute or so of loading it down.
S8 was gritty as **** and presented a volt meter problem when I first got the unit and the unit has had work done on...
I was using my IR heat gun on the exhaust ports in my MEP-803a and finding a slightly lower temp on the end cylinders, a difference of about 13-15 degrees from the center two cylinders. For anyone else who has used this type of thermometer did you find the same results?
My guess is there is...
I picked up the generator this morning from the commercial address I had it shipped to.
Installed the fuse mod.
Removed case over electrical end to check for any mouse invasion, there was none and the unit is very clean inside.
Checked the oil, CLEAN AND FULL.
Checked the coolant, clean and...
Picked up another 803a today off the GP auction site. Heading out to Georgia to pick it up on Monday.
Will post pics when I return and pull the cover off to inspect the electronics area.
Will probably keep the better of the two and sell the other to a friend who needs one.
Glad I got my...
Seems it doesn't want to come up to anything higher than 130 degrees.
Exhaust gasses are hot, can't hold a hand above it 6 inches for more than a second or two.
I drained the coolant, removed both radiator hoses and cleaned all the connections of corrosion and replaced the lower hose. I used a...
What are folks here using as replacements for the upper radiator hose on their MEP-803a generators? Flex hose?
I've been considering having a production run of silicone hoses made and would like to establish whether there is sufficient interest in the piece to go ahead with a 100-500 piece...
Can't sleep and mind is busy.
Anyone ever thought of adding a simple EGR system to an MEP803a to help mitigate wet stacking? Nothing fancy, just a tube with a stainless ball valve
My thoughts are, plumbing a steel tube maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the muffler near its input and feeding it back...
Heading out tomorrow to pick up a trailer at an auction site and want to make sure I have the correct socket size in case I have to pull off a wheel.
Bringing tools, grease, PB Blaster, tow lights, MAPP gas torch(just in case), anti seize, jack, jack stands, generator, extension cords, electric...
Wheels (casters) for my MEP-803a
Took a ride to a local scrap yard this morning and found these two gems!
Welded frames with industrial casters. All for the wallet breaking price of $2.50 for both pieces. I couldn't buy the welding rods to fabricate these two pieces, let alone the steel...
Had the set running this morning and could hear a rattle coming from the side door. Opening the door stopped it.
It was the aluminum door hold open bar vibrating. The fix was a 3/8 ID plastic shoulder washer with a small opening nipped out of the side of it so it would snap in place and stay...
Curious to know if anyone here runs STP oil treatment in their gensets?
I've used STP in every gasoline and diesel engine I've ever owned, from mowers to trucks and never had a problem. Matter of fact it has probably saved by hide a time or two with engines running low on oil.
Just wondering...
Just returned from the pallet mill down the road where I had the generator off loaded from the delivery truck to my trailer. Been waiting for it for a little over a week as I delayed the shipment due to bad weather.
Looks better than I thought. Now waiting for a little warmer weather to go...
