that's a good nickname as I seem to remember someone getting their hand caught in a spooling winch line at Top truck, almost got to experience the meat grinder, lucky the lever was still within reach.
looks like a great build as expected from you, story about the downhill run thru the pinetrees...
Dmetalmiki, you are misinformed, here maybe this will help you:
The flash point of a flammable liquid is the lowest temperature at which it can form an ignitable mixture in air. At this temperature the vapor may cease to burn when the source of ignition is removed. A slightly higher...
p.s. the change in color from clear to darker is due to the oil absorbing the cellulose that breaks down due to heat over the life of the XFMR. not sure how that would affect the usability of the oil, we routinely put it back in service after filterpress and vac dry regardless of final oil color...
Sermis,
we had a company deliver new mineral oil ( shell diala) for our transformers out here in SoCal, the truck drivers that brought it from L.A. told us they burn any left over (new stuff, not used) in their trucks all the time. I think they mixed it 50/50, let me see if I can find their...

I registered my 715 as historical...there was some problems, since there is no such thing as a historical truck, they are all historical autos... after being nice to the DMV, they typed in some code, I can check the paperwork when I get home...but now the 715 is listed as a auto on the title...
oops,I'm an IDIOT, I looked further down, someone else (nickd) is having the same problem( in differential seal leak)...but they found a replacement...here's the answer...
on a related note, anyone care to verify the timken numbers so I can add them to the cross reference...
I found the following upon disassembly of the input shaft ( Through shaft assembly) of the pinion..
front ( little side away from gear)
outer race(cup) 22720 timken
inner (cone) 22780 timken...
