My 1008 is also having problems. Turn the switch on and nothing happens at all. No wait light, no clicks or anything.
Replaced all glow plugs and all 8 were blown. Still nothing. Replaced glow plug card. Still nothing.
BUT, I can give the two blue wires on the relay a ground with a jumper wire...
I searched the TM's and found the part number for the
drain plug on the bottom of my axles but can't find anywhere
online to buy 'em. (magnetic plugs)
Can somebody point me towards a store that's got some ?
All the ones I've found says "out of stock".
Thanks
I'm needing another engine for my 1008. Can any of
you guys maybe steer me in a dependable direction ?
My 1008 is not my primary mode, but it's driven daily
non-the-less. With my working hours I jus don't have time to
re-build myself . I'm looking for a completely rebuilt 6.2 and
possibly...

My starter went out, no big deal, so I called up DB Electrical and ordered up a new gear reduction starter. Been wanting to upgrade anyway. Installed the new starter and on the "3rd" start the dam starter...
Hello.
The 24 volt starter on my 1008 has internally fried itself yesterday. Gonna have to break open my fruit jar and buy a new one, rebuilding is not an option. Who's got the best starter for the money. This truck is driven dailey and I need the best starter I can buy, Thanks, GB.
The vib definately feels like a motor mount "metal to metal".
I've pry'd the motor up on both sides with a big pipe and didn't notice a change in the vib.
Ill check the mounts again this evenin and the other things you mentioned and thanks !
Hello. I've picked up a good vibration at idle in my 86 model 5/4.
I've messed with the idle and all that but it's something else.
Anything above idle it seems to run smooth as ever.
Could it possibly be the pump and/or injector ?
Thanks, Greg.
This may sound wierd but it's true. My hard starting once was a combo of starter drag and weak batteries. Someone else can give more info than me, but the 6.2 needs a certain amount of cranking RPM's to pressurize fuel through injectors.
Maybe someone will chime in with more info.
