So I have a similar situation - just bought a m1009 from a guy who bought it from GL and he did not get a SF97. I have contacted GL and they also told me that all they can provide is a notarized bill of sale, that they stopped issuing SF97s. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get a title? The...
king pin springs and bushings are new as well as the steering stabilizer and draglink ends.
i would not have thought about contaminated pads, but will definately try this fix.
i have not seen any balooning of my stainless lines. i thought this was more of an issue with rubber lines. mine are...
I have had my 1008 lifted for a few months and a few miles now but I am still trying to pinpoint my brake issue. Whenever I get on the brakes pretty hard, the truck wants to pull VERY hard to the right. I can counter-steer the pulling but I don't want this to become a safety issue if I ever get...
I don't really follow the arguement that a shackle flip adds stress to the frame. A properly designed shackle flip like the ones ORD and DIY4X make spread the load evenly over the mounting surface on the frame and IMO add no more stress than the stock bracket.
I do not really agree that it...
If you have a 1008 you will need to buy different u-bolts for the front as well as another form of steering correction as these parts that come with the kit will not work on the D60 front axle. Depending on how you lift the rear you may need different u-bolts for it as well.
If you keep those...
Looks good.
You will probably be ok with the Humvee rims and swaybar still installed, but I am going to have to trim my fenders pretty good to clear my Humvee tires that I have mounted on 9.75" rims and I have a 6" lift (and my swaybar is removed). They do not rub just riding around on the...
I don't mind a little slop but the steering block IMO is not enough correction for the 6" lift. I really wanted to do crossover in the first place - I just needed an excuse to do it.:-)
If you are referring to the crossover steering arm you can find it at Total Performance's store on ebay...
If I go with bigger tires in the future I probably will go with hydro assist. If I played in the rocks I would do it when I convert to crossover, but IMO for where I drive and the setup I currently have it is not necessary right now. Of course I may prove myself to be wrong again.....
Well once again, I guess I should have listened. After driving my truck around with the steering block, I am ready to convert to crossover. There is just too much slop on center and not enough turning radius for me to be satisfied.
ODdave, would you please PM me a link to the steering arm you...
A couple of weeks ago when I installed my lift, I let the front differential droop down too far with the driveshaft still attached and ended up ripping the boot. I really want to replace it, but after asking around a little I was not that it is not absolutely necessary. Just wondering what...
I believe I would start by using sound-deadening material inside the cab like dynomat before I started cutting a big hole in my fender. If your only reason for adding a snorkle is for sound suppression, IMO there are better ways to go about it.
My lift came with superlift super-ride shocks. I expected them to be kind of stiff but the truck actually rides pretty good. If I had the extra cash I would get a set of bilstein 5100's like I have on my DD.
Never knew that it was a valve. I was under there for a while this evening and didn't notice.
I got the new lines installed this evening and they fit great, but I didn't have time to bleed the brakes. One thing that kind of had me stumped though was why the new front brake lines came with...
