Hard door striker for hard doors

When we were switching doors on the M998 for the department we could not find any anywhere. We ended up fabricating our own. Good luck with your search. I don't have the plans anymore but can send pics if you want to go that route. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk

Need suggestions on battery powered impact wrench for Airlift and front winch install

I have a Craftsman 20v impact that hasn't removed anything I've put it on. The castle nut in the pintle isn't torqued so the pintle can move, it's a 1 7/8" nut. The last one I removed with a pipe wrench, carefully and without a problem. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

    Spring lengths

I know this is almost 2 months old, but according to the CUCV Wiki here is your spring information. Front springs: 3 inches wide and 56 inches long Rear springs: 2.5 inches wide and 52 inches long Mike

    Extreme RV from M36a2

D2, I've been flowing your build for a while. I'm wanting to do something similar in the next couple years and I'm impressed with what you've got going on with your build. I'm a little confused about the dual power input with the 50 and 20 amp service. Could you explain that? I'm not a fan of...

    Hmmwv manual.

I have acquired and collected about all the manuals there are for the HMMWV, including -10, -20, -24P, -34, -34P, and wiring schematics. I have uploaded them to a public folder on Google Drive for anyone that needs one. Sarge...

    12 volt question...

I've been able to find most equipment we need in 24 volt with 2 exceptions. We have a 12 volt GoLight and a Motorola VHF radio. Mike

    12 volt question...

So, If I'm looking at the TM correctly, -24P, the 60A, 100A and Prestolite 200A are all drop in for the Basic and A1 models, while the Niehoff 200A is designed for the A2 trucks. Go figure I would find two for the wrong truck.

    12 volt question...

Bumping this old thread to ask a question. We have managed to get a pair of 200A alternators for the HMMWV. These are the dual voltage models. What modifications are needed to go from the stock 60A to a 200A dual voltage? I know the pulley is different, can I just swap it? Thanks, Sarge

Volunteer Fire Department Turning HMMWV into brush truck

One option you might want to look into is the multi-voltage emergency lights. Several companies make LED lights that work from 10-30 VDC. There are even sirens that operate 10-20 VDC. This could allow you to use a smaller DC-DC converter. One negative is that most of these lights are surface...

    12 volt question...

Thanks for all the help, electricity isn't exactly my greatest area of expertise and I knew I'd find the answer here. Mike

    12 volt question...

My department has a 1998 M998 that we have been working on and using. I have been working on the equipment side, finding 24v accessories, but still have several things that are 12 volt. I know that using one battery to supply 12 volts can cause balance issues with the batteries and shouldn't...

24V to 12V For Emergency Equipment

That poses an interesting issue. The panels are just the seat backs for the rear seats. The rear seat bottoms should still be there and are removable. There are storage areas under both seats that should still be reasonably accessable. Thats the only really good place I can think of to mount...

24V to 12V For Emergency Equipment

Under one of the back seats? There is plenty of room, adding a bracket to secure it would not be difficult. We are also looking into the possibility of solar to provide 12V for some equipment and thats where we would put the batteries. Mike

24V to 12V For Emergency Equipment

24V lights We looked at a few solutions to this issue. I found that Sound Off Signal makes a wide variety of LED lights that operate on 10-30 vDC. These can be direct wired to the HMMWV easily. They also make a siren that has full light controls that also works on 10-30 vDC. A good place to...

    Fuel Filter Service

Got a few questions about our M998 and the fuel filter/separator. What is the recommended service procedure for the filter? Should we replace the entire unit when servicing or just the filter inside? Is there a commercial source for the Kaydon filter? I have located the part numbers for...
