When I was stationed at Clark Air Base in 1975 & 76 I drove up to Ilocos Norte (Northern Luzon, Republic of the Philippines) and captured this priceless photo of sugar cane trucks waiting to unload at a processing plant. If you wondered what happened to all the trucks after the war, here they are.
I ran a purge line from the plug at the back of the air pack to the steering column with a valve that I open while driving and close when I need to brake. It works! You can hear air escaping constantly while driving indicating brakes will lock if not purged. This is a good way to "cheat" if...
My deuce has a winch and the controls are attached to the master cylinder mounts so my application is a little more complicated. I still have to change it out anyway but keep procrastinating.....
Pulled mine off the market until the smoke clears with the recent news of military vehicles no longer being sold to the general public. I live in Florida too and having a deuce is great during flooding situations like Tropical Storm Fay. If you are ever up by Exit 180 of Interstate 95 you are...
Just bought another one of these for the future. The seller still has one more left on Ebay and offers "free shipping" which was a big plus for me even though he is located just south of where I live in West Melbourne Florida. I love how the light filters through the cover unlike what I had...
Photo of the back of the truck after installing the new cargo cover. I still have a little more to accomplish before this is complete but at least I know it is on correctly and not backwards.
Getting ready to put my new vinyl cargo cover on but want to make sure I do not put it on backwards. The photos helped a little. Thinking the front would be where the nomenclature is printed but I may be wrong. There's a couple of things that look like vents on the top of one end and...
Oh Hi Kenny! Just looked to see who asked. Have not been on here lately and probably missed a whole lot too. This is an annual gathering in April of every year. Lots of great static displays in addition to the wall. When my deuce is running I bring it here to show but right now it is laid...
I live in Florida and the sun rotted my canvas in no time. My M105A2 cargo covers are canvas and seem to handle UV rays very well with no deterioration as compared to the canvas covers. Even my end curtains are rotting now on the deuce that are made of canvas.
Nice photos! Looks like a perfect tank too. I actually have three M149A2 frames and two tanks, one is an oddball that I cannot even identify but it is aluminum. I have one pretty near complete M149A2 with the same tank as you have. Just bought a brand new rear valve for mine that I hope to...
Just bought a brand new rear valve for my M149A2 from an Ebay seller. Looked at it for well over a month and decided to buy it today before someone else did. The one in my tank looks bad! Now I need to get busy and sanitize the tank.
Love to find a stainless tank for an M149A2. I have a really nice trailer for one but no tank. Bought it from a farmer over in Orlando Florida pretty cheap and it had all of the components (plumbing and faucets) plus the buckets that cover the faucets. They had some fiberglass tank on it that...
Spent the better part of the day swapping landing gears between one of my M105A2 trailers and one of my M149A2 trailers. I actually bought the M105A2 specifically for the landing gear which allows me to lower the lunette down to hook up to my CUCV (M1008A1). Also flipped the lunette on the...
Jason I saw where you bought all new tees and faucets from an Ebay auction. Any chance the same seller may have another set of parts like the ones you got? Also, let me know if you are the guy who originally asked about my used valve. I've been so busy with home maintenance lately that I am...
