Years ago I balanced the tires on my M939A1 with antifreeze. Their were questions, fears and the occasional dire prediction of doom. Anyway, 5 years later I can answer some of those with real empirical data. I tried to put this at the end of the original post but it was closed, if a mod wants...
Push mirror arms farther out then tilt mirrors back into adjustment. Unless you are missing the door stop rid entirely in which case that will need to be fixed. Otherwise shove them forward till it no longer hits and pivot mirrors.

So a guy comes down off the mountain after the busiest week of tours so far to shower, poop someplace where the water swirls around and use a little borrowed wifi only to be greeted with my least favorite part of SteelSoldiers, the wolf pack. Let’s make this quick, it is my birthday and I am...
Simp, three different motors, none set up by us all lasting one year. Now this motor 100% set up by us. No fuel increase in any of them. Driving trucks since I was a boy and grew up in a heavy equipment operation and repair family. I drive a truck up a hill nearly empty 6 days a week for 10...
I thought about my post. First I never should have referenced the Lord flippantly and I know better. Lead off with the experience you have to give a reference to where your position comes from. I have a tendency to tune out a comment coming from what I see as a sky is falling attitude. I...
When I lost a steering tire I admit it was a ride but it didn't yank the wheel out of my hands or rampage through the village. It was a 1400/20 Michelin X that decided suddenly not to be a tire anymore. It is a situation worth serious consideration and caution for sure but I believe you are...
God no. I like the beadlocks because it isn't as hard to get the tires to seat but I would never mess with runflats. Should be an adventure getting them out.

For what it is worth I have never really been able to keep the gear oil out of that knuckle in any of mine. In the old jeeps we call the grease/gear oil mix knuckle butter. Make sure the rubber seal is properly set unlike the picture above. Do your best to get them in straight without damage...
This is a long post but then it is the full recap of three years of destruction and frustration. I put the list of things I wish I had done or known here at the top just in case you don’t feel like reading all of it. It is an interesting story and there is a lot to learn from my expensive...
I have had both latex and enamel mixed up to match and they have never been very close. Like the truck has a rash. If you can find a can of the CARC use that. It isn't as much of an issue on a camo truck I imagine.

They don't bend much if at all so once a year with a nice thick grease is sufficient. I can't imagine other than water rusting it out it would be possible to wear out the joint.

Sometimes on my 925 I just jack it up in the center and wait for the earth to rotate before setting it back down. Not all the time mind you, just when I am in a hurry.

On reflection the tour egt can get higher. I backed out of it Saturday night with 20+ on the truck at 1180. Depends on heat load and elevation. Weekends in July and August could have seen brief periods of 1300 in previous years.

On the actual tours the egt is OK with one grade climbing to 1100 but the majority between 800 and 1000. Water temp never seem to rise much and sometimes on the morning runs the fan never kicks on. Makes me wonder if a lower thermostat could force egt down. Haven't thought about that before...
