Recommendations for Hard Top - what to go with?

I s the B pillar not the same height as the A or windshield pillar? That was my question. if you took everything off the that is related to the soft top, would it rest on top of both pillars evenly? This is assuming you remove the turret supports from the top that come down to the B pillar

Recommendations for Hard Top - what to go with?

I am not trying to high jack the thread, but will this top need the b pillar cut and the turret supports if you are not installing any of the turret components? I have included a pic of the soft top b pillar for reference. I would install this and fab a round steel cover. I was thinking this...

Hard door striker for hard doors

Just to verify, the NOS ones are not all flat strikers they have that wider part on top, like a bolt, right?

Hard door striker for hard doors

I guess I'll get some strikers from ebay, and use them as templates for the shim and the backplate since it seems they are the same shape. It looks like the nuts are spot welded onto the backplate. Not a big deal but was hoping to have it all ready.

Hard door striker for hard doors

Is there a good source to get a complete set that contains the door strikers, shims and backplates? The bolts/nuts are common enough but I have looked a several vendors and no one seems to have the shins and backplates. There also seems to be a lot of the aftermarket strikers and would prefer an...

    HMMWV similarities between models.

That's a good idea. I need to get my notes together so that I can get clarification. Thank you.

    HMMWV similarities between models.

Sure, if prices weren't driven to the moon that would be the ideal way to go. But, there's also that factor of liking to work a hmmwv. Most of the components are not hard to find, except for the blower assembly and controls. I think we all go into this knowing that it's an involved hobby.

    HMMWV similarities between models.

That's what I was also thinking. I'll have to shop around. In another post, I remember that there is an outfit out of Georgia that sells top, slant, sponsoons for about 5k without hardware or 8k with hardware. Other than the soft top starting to go, I think being patient and savvy is the way to go.

    HMMWV similarities between models.

Tobash, My main focus is not in the powertrain/drivetrain aspect of it. It is the similarities in the body and a/c mounting aspect. I noticed that the later hmmwvs have the blower motor assembly under the dash on the passenger side similar to civilian vehicles. As far as I can tell on TMs, it...

    Gov Planet zero accountability

One more piece of information that may help your case. I think it was two years ago when I went through the process. At this point, dmv was aware of individuals attempting to circumvent the off road use. They knew the whole out of state title method. This came up with a conversation I had with...

    HMMWV similarities between models.

Is there a sticky/cheat sheet that can help with the similarities and interchangeability between models? To be specific, I am referring to being install newer components on the m998. After extensive research I finally figured out the hard doors (not the flat ones). Now, I need help on the proper...

    Gov Planet zero accountability

Well, I can say that it's all dependent on how you conduct yourself with Gov planet on the phone and with dmv reps in person/over the phone. I agree with @Action that your title looks like a normal title. It took me a few trips and explaining my paperwork but in the end it was processed. I don't...

    Starting problem M998

This helped, but I also added that grounding harness that is on one of the stickies. Pretty simple to make and install. Just in case, not that I had issues after taking ownership.

Is there an A/C "kit choices" thread?

It seems that there are not many set-up choices. From the "cheap" do it yourself sub $500 a/c kit that will end up costing three/four times as much in the end to the red dot military version that while it definitely works, it really is more function than form. Then, in my research, there was a...

    Cargo Floor Section

I saw that at a different place for $75. I appreciate the assistance.

    Cargo Floor Section

It would work, but they are much more than I would need. I appreciate the suggestion.

    Cargo Floor Section

That's a possibility, I did find online vendors as another member pointed out that sell a 24" x 24" piece. It was more of a scrap piece a member may have laying around.

    Cargo Floor Section

Correct, at the time of posting this I had not looked at the parts manual. After a bit of research, I can see that the pump is inline. I had read about the filter sock here and jumped the gun into thinking that it was a typical in the fuel tank pump. Is there ever a reason to unbolt the...

    Cargo Floor Section

Does anyone happen to have a section of the cargo floor that is able to part with it? On my M998 it came with the "upgraded" access panel for the fuel pump. But it was a hack job and I'd like to make it better. I know it's a long shot but I figured it's worth a try before looking elsewhere.
