M35A2 injection pump install

Picked up 2 group 31s gonna replace the battery box with a metal one or modify the plastic box.

I wouldn't modify the plastic box, as the original military style batteries are available at your popular professional parts stores (ie; o'reilly's, napa, carquest, not your Walmart of parts stores, ie; auto zone, pep boys, etc.). The original style batteries are not much more expensive (10-15 dollar a piece), but have more power and more reserve, even if the spec sheets don't say so. Group 31 batteries are good batteries, but the originals have lasted a year or two, sometimes up to four, longer then the group 31. This has been my experience at my vfd.

They originally came with metal boxes but rust out, plastic was the upgrade.

She fired over!! Question. By the ip there's a fitting in the block what is that fitting for

That fitting in the block is pumping out oil like crazy

Fire start line not hooked up. There's no open fitting on the pump for it.

is this the fire start? With the line that comes to the pump. Line is coming out of here

Or is this part the fire start that has a line coming from the injectors

Does the line with the fitting coming over from the top of the motor go to the fitting in the block that's pumping oil?

That fitting under the air compressor supplys oil to you IP. DO NOT ron the truck if you don't have an oil line to your IP.

Where does it hook up on the pump?

So I'm gonna need a line because I don't have anything else that would go to that. And I need to find out where it hooks to the pump.

If I'm right there's a thick black rubber hose on the bottom of the pump. In the very front there's a T fitting. One side of that T goes to the block fitting

Just went and looked at the guys that I got it from and seen the oil line. That line is missing. Also fire start filter is missing.

I found the hose!! It was on the old pump.

Have fuel to the filters but no fuel to the injectors

Wasn't getting fuel because the fuel shut off was stuck under the cap. Took cap off and sprayed some carb cleaner and loosened anything up that might have been causing it to stick. Works fine now
