I saw one that was an arm rest also, maybe Wes's 5 ton. Would be nice to do both, arm rest and closer.Couldn’t you make it? Looks like round stock beaten and bent, couple holes drilled. Or get fancy and make one like mine.View attachment 726008
I have found those but I am not too sure what vintage those are. If you look at the 24P fig 188 item 8 it shows the ones I am looking for.Couldn’t you make it? Looks like round stock beaten and bent, couple holes drilled. Or get fancy and make one like mine.View attachment 726008
Spanky. Have you asked Alex Gordon at Idaho Motor Pool, if the M1078 he is parting out has some door handles? Can't hurt to ask!I have found those but I am not too sure what vintage those are. If you look at the 24P fig 188 item 8 it shows the ones I am looking for.
Thing is I don't see any holes that would line up to that other type of handle... strange as ever picture I have looked at has the other handle and not what I have.https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/836/40902400994_a0b3c8430b_h.jpg
On my truck, those are the "OH, S*%T" handles above the doors. I have the ones like in post #103 on my doors. But hey, If it works!
It's a 1995 so I don't think it's was at the end of production. Who knows...What year is your truck? Maybe it was one of the last trucks on a run and they just used whatever they had left? I doubt that's the case. I have known people who have worked in auto industry and in the military refurbishment factories. Some just do things as a prank or a dig at a supervisor and the item never gets reported or spotted. Then the next person says, "well I'm not the door pull guy and that must be what the truck was supposed to have on it. Not my job or my issue." sad but true
Might have been a replacement door. There was a lot of issues with folks opening the doors with the cab tilted and maybe the new door shells came without handles. It's a 1995 so I don't think it's was at the end of production. Who knows...
Where you getting the weld in floor pan ?,,,,

The Early LMTV are rusting like crazy- no corrosion protection until 97. Matter of fact. That and the resulting delay is the reason S&S lost the contract. These truck cabs looked like Swiss cheese already at the Sealey Plant and had holes while they were waiting to be installed on the trucks.Stop in and see if they will talk to you. Couldn't hurt, might even get some history.
