New to the site and going to buy a Deuce.

This has been mentioned in a lot of other threads, but always closely inspect the entire braking system, particularly if you're buying from GL. The trucks sit for quite some time before and after the auction. Leaking wheel cylinders, low master cylinder, soft pedal, etc = trouble when you're in...

    HD Video of my Deuce

Great video and beautiful deuce! Are those jump standards that we see in the backyard towards the end?

    Is this an M880?

I got a call from the seller on Sunday, it went pretty fast.

    Is this an M880?

Smart of me to ask for an ID with no pics. :cookoo: Sorry, no coffee yet this morning.......here's the link: 1978 DODGE D200 POWER WAGON 4WD 31,000.miles

    Is this an M880?

I came across what might be an M880 with a service/utility bed. The seller claims that it has 31k original miles, was used on a military base, and has the "military ID plate" on the dash. I might go see it but don't know much about the M880 - did any of them come with a service bed originally?

    A demanding mistress! Next issue......

I appreciate the info - does it seem reasonable that the initial white smoke was due to the gas?

    A demanding mistress! Next issue......

The old girl is keeping me on my toes! No complaints though, I've never had so much fun laying in the snow busting knuckles :-D The fuel situation that I posted about a few days ago seems fine now and she's running great. It's been near 40 here today and yesterday so that's a big help. Next...

    KY recovery question (temp tags?)

FWIW, I got a temp tag from the Ohio BMV with my paid in full invoice. I kept it in the truck with my proof of insurance and didn't have any trouble driving home.

    Fuel problem (I hope)

Update - added some Powerservice and drained some more out of the filters, she fired right off and ran fine. I still need to drain/clean the tank and change the filters. Maybe I'll get snowed in and have nothing else to do :-D

    Fuel problem (I hope)

Thanks - that's a good thought, plus I still need to drop that piece off at your shop anyway. I'm hoping to have some free time tomorrow and I'll keep you posted.

    Fuel problem (I hope)

I ran out of daylight and didn't have time to do much, but I opened the bleeder on the bottom of the primary filter and plenty of clean diesel came spraying out as soon as the master swtich came on. Is it supposed to be more of a stream, or is a spray normal? Also, oil was at the full mark on...

    Fuel problem (I hope)

Thanks, I forgot to mention that in the post. It's been pretty cold here (teens and single digits), so I'm hoping that's the case. I'm running straight diesel, a mix of who-knows-what from when it was sitting and 15 gallons or so of fresh.

    Fuel problem (I hope)

It looks like I'm about to jump in and get some firsthand education on deuce mechanicals. I took it out to get some feed/hay and it ran perfectly, no problems at all. I was home for about an hour when a neighbor came by to see it, and I fired it up. It started and ran perfectly, then shut down...
