Is it just white or is it white with another color tracer on it?
The White/Black wire is the seat belt buzzer wire
The White/Tan wire is the parking brake light wire

The cables from the terminal blocks are super easy. Top is positive and bottom is negative...
The question you need to figure out is if it's 12V or 24V. Does it still have both alternators or only one? If it's still stock 24V, make a cable that goes from the upper block to the positive of the...
Ok, if you're good with wiring (didn't want to assume anything and talk over your head) then here's what you check for...
I forgot to mention above that the silver relay is the one that is the starter relay.
The plug for that relay is a 4 pin plug with the following wires:
Purple
Purple/white...
Seriously? LOL that's epic ghetto...
Ok, do you have a multimeter so you can check for voltage? It sounds like the starter relay is missing from under the dash. Look under where the stereo would mount and there should be a silver plate with 3 relays hooked to it. One is a big silver relay and...
I'm not sure what 'ghetto switch' you're referring to... the one to start it?
For the service lights, yes, you can leave it on all the time and just use the headlight switch.
There is a switch above the brake pedal itself. If it is bad or disconnected, the lights won't work.

Joe
The brake lights are on a separate fuse, the one just above the headlight fuse. Is it ok?
Dash turn signal light is definitely a ground issue. Check the grounds under the hood on both sides. The driver's side is grounded to the mount for the radiator overflow and the passenger's side is...
Ok, so does the key move completely to the "Start" position or does it stick? If it doesn't stick, it's probably the ignition switch that mounts on top of the column, not the key lock.
I really recommend pulling the dash and instrument cluster to get a better view of what's been hacked...
Sounds like it's really hacked up...
There are two switches to the left of the headlight switch, the right one has to be up for any lights to work. If that doesn't work, check the 30 amp fuse on the right side of the fusebox in about the middle. If the fuse is good, make sure that it makes good...
Ok, so it works as designed with the switch up, and with the switch off (middle) the headlights/parking lights still work but the brake lights don't? Correct?
If so, then the PD has probably bypassed the blackout switch somehow with a jumper. Check for splices on the switch plug itself and on...
Darn, wrong coast...
Is this an engine driven generator SECM or PTO SECM?
If it's a PTO SECM, I'm interested in the governor controls under the hood if you end up parting it out.

Joe
Ok, so let me see if I've got your issues correct:
Brake lights work only with right switch (one closest to the headlight switch) up
Parking lights work only with the right switch up
Turn signals work all the time
Headlights work all the time
Front marker lights work all the time? Not clear from...
Good advice, I'll just add that you should take the small connector off the passenger's side alternator and make sure it's clean and making good contact. Probably a good idea to check/clean on both alternators.
The relay is attached to the silver panel that is bolted to the dash under where the...
The M101 trailer is about 100"L x 62"W inside the box (not sure of the wheel wells). It's about the same size as an 8' pickup bed.
The M101 and A1 have no active brakes and 5 lug M37 wheels, the A2 has surge brakes and 8 lug Chevy wheels, and the A3 has surge brakes, wider axle, and HMMWV...
A good remote start system will have a wire for the glow plug delay. I've installed a couple of them and they're not difficult, just tedious.
I would consider putting one on my 1009 one of these days after some of the other projects were pared down.

I regularly get 425-450 out of an in town tank (~20MPG)... about 375-400 out of a highway tank (~16MPG) and fill at about an eighth. It usually takes 23 gal to fill. Doing 65-70 on the highway kills my mileage.

They call the M1009 3/4 ton, but that's because it has a 1500 lb cargo rating. The Military is very literal about interpreting the ratings unlike the manufacturers who just assign the 1/2 - 3/4 - 1 Ton ratings based on use. Heck, a new 2011 F-350 4x2 DRW truck has a payload of 6520 lbs, and it's...
Really, it's not too nuts at all... it's actually about $2 per mile which is a decent rate with fuel prices the way they are. The entire trip is 5019 miles and at 10 hours a day that's 8 or 9 days.
Heck, I did some number crunching and it would cost me about $5500 just to drive down to AZ and...
