Fly wheel and rear main part numbers

I'd start with the GM part numbers listed in either the -20p or -34p TM's, and use those in a google search to see what is out there.

Sound proofing, is it worth the money and time?

After reading many posts on this site on this topic, my plan is to get the under-hood insulation, then when I can afford it, to spray the interior of the cab with some form of bedliner. The bedliner may help with noise, but i'm doing it more to seal the floor. If I really get into it, then I...

    CUCV Wont start

I'd suggest going through the glow plug troubleshooting guide in the -20 TM, which is available in the TM section of this site. Some simple tests with a volt meter will tell you a lot about how the glow plug system is functioning, or not functioning, as the case may be. :-)

    glow plug system problem

Is your truck still in stock, 24v trim, or has anything been converted? I'm asking partly because of your description of the glow plug solenoid. If the system is stock as far as the glow plug system is concerned, then the glow plug solenoid *must* have its mounting tabs isolated from the small...

How do you know it is charging correctly? What voltage readings are you getting?

M1008 Can you install an intermittent wiper motor

I have not done this, but some on here have, usually when swapping to a tilt steering column. My understanding is that you need the intermittent wiper column switch and the module that mounts on the lower portion of the column, then the existing wiper harness plugs into this module. The wiper...

    Volt gauge repair

Um, no. The relay is controlled by 12v, and just provides the ground connection for the voltmeter, not the positive. I don't know why they did it that way, but it is what it is.

Newbie, not sure what to ask seller or look for when buying M1009

What is your end goal? A period accurate show / parade vehicle? A daily driver? Off-road? That will determine what areas of the vehicle concern you. Other than that, it is a 30+ year old truck, and has all the concerns of any vehicle of that age. Rust, maintenance records, modifications, etc...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Does it have the Doghead mod? If so, may have shorted out the 24v feed. I'd suggest heading over to the CUCV helpful threads sticky and start reading up on fusible links.

    Volt gauge repair

Is the voltmeter relay working? Is there power to the 24v+ wire that connects to the gauge?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

How about testing the voltage at the starter solenoid when the key is turned to crank and the starter doesn't move? That would eliminate a lot of guess work and shotgun parts replacement...

    M1009 starting problems

Were the old glow plugs bad? If so, perhaps the new glow plugs are putting more of a load on weak batteries, thus the starter 'bogging down'. Also, should measure the output side of the glow plug solenoid when it is energized, as the glow plug solenoid contacts can get a carbon buildup on them...

    Washer fluid pump question.

There are two plugs on the wiper motor, one for the motor, one to engage the pump. I *think* the one on the passenger-side of the wiper motor is one for the pump. Try unplugging that one and see if the wiper works, etc.
