    Idling the 6.2L diesel engine?

When its cold and I´ve taken the ´09 to work with me, I often let it run idle & warm up while I grease the machines (big excavators, crawler loaders etc.), clean the cab and the tracks..this can take up to half an hour.. Nothing bad noticed yet, I think I once read a post where someone mentioned...

This is a "PEFC" certified forest...there are forests that look really worse, only mono-culture... no thicket (or do americans call it brush, I dont know). I can get some pictures from the parts of the forest which are not harvested at the moment, but its still for profit, not a nature preserve...

Im now busy a few days for a near forestry department, ...its all a bit too muddy out there for the Harvesters & Trucks, so I have to build roads for them to haul wood. Im operating a CAT 963D crawler loader (my usual machine). I have a handful of 4x4 Trucks which bring me loam with rocks in...

Im not planning on cutting the wall which is welded in out again. But I plan on adding a window to it...like the m1008 or k30...still not sure if the wall is thick enough for such a thing. Also it will stay registered as truck, almost same taxe as historic but no restrictions...here they wont...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Hey, When I did differential Fluid on my ´09 I had so scratch about 2 hrs with a ceran-field scratcher to remove some sort of silicone (they used the same to seal the transmission etc.) also no metal pieces etc. in it but some metal "dust" ...I just put in the gasket and tightened it up...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Its a solid ~5mm steel wall...Cab is closed, but someone put speakers in the wall and I decided to put a canvas over them. So you dont see them from outside and to protect them from rain if I drive without Hardtop (I like the pickup style, so mostly in the summer the hardtop is taken off) heres...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The windows are painted because they are not windows anymore  It has a wall welded behind the front seats (have an "emergency" seat between the stock ones, and the Back is now a shortbed and the hardtop had its windows removed and replaced with sheet metal... all that was done by a...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

today I spontanously decided to do a rattle-can paintjob on my '09 ...I ordered the wrong green (noticed after the camo spot I repainted had dried) and therefor I thought it might be better looking if I change it all..ordered some more cans and now it looks like this...its a unique camo pattern...

    Poltergeist in my CUCV

wasnt there a diode in the horn circuit that causes similar problems when it goes bad? I not quite sure about that... I once had a 75ton Dump Truck at work to drive...with a broken horn button..I was driving round the quarry and the horn was on for minutes then off ...etc. pretty funny though...

CUCV 01 finaly made it to hamburg germany

one cant simply get bored owning a CUCV.... lol I´d like to see some other 09s and 08s aswell... once met a guy with a M1008 , talked a bit and I once saw a K5 (in Camo, without Brushguard or shakles, so I dont know if its a true US-Army Vehicle) we should really do some sort of...

My M1009 is registered as Truck aswell... I could now buy every year a overhauled engine & transmission from the money I save...I dont want to go for historical plate...too much restrictions. Now as truck its about the same costs per year as my Audi... I had a headlight bulb go bad, replaced...

    Fuel gauge questions.

My gauge is 1/4 over the top when the tank is full. so 1/4 above "E" means empty... its pretty accurate though, but I still carry a 25L Can with me to be Safe... its empty atm since there is no longer trip planned and the fuel stations are pretty near to each other here in my area. I once put...
