Napa muffler that will really quiet the truck down?

Try this: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce-modification-hot-rodding/1797-muffler-modification.html I used a straight though muffler from a truck shop of unknown origin. It goes on and off of the stack in place of the straight pipe. I used it on a 1200 mile trip and it does knock down the...

    how to stencil markings

Seems there are as many types as needed for field expedient for stars and numbers. Just a couple of shots of stencils and stars from the 44th Infantry Division 1944-45. The tanks got winter camo and the star is cock-eyed. The batallion jeep has huge numbers. 157th Field Artillery trucks with...

    Any tricks for cable?

Conferm it just rusted or seizing. I had one I thought was just rusted too, but it turned out to be fraying and balled up in the housing, It froze up at the most in-opportune time and then you are stuck with crawling up under there in a less-than-comfortable spot. After fighting with the...

I feel odd driving my M886

To me, driving an ambulance would a sign of humanity and compassion even if the vehicle is a retired MV. Your first quote, "I really like my Ambulance" says it all. It was purpose built to be an ambulance and you should be proud to own an example. There are people who re-enact as medics. Why...

I have one hot brake drum

Per haps you should consider having a new brake cylinder, and axle seals on hand before taking it all apart. If the hub/drum got that hot the seals may be toast. If the removal shows only the brake shoes stuck, fine, but if the cylinder will not retract it should be replaced and no better time...
