    M923 fuel problem

    You said that it started again after pressurizing the tank, the pump is probably ok just an air leak somewhere. How do you know the fuel lines are good? Just because you don't see a leak doesn't mean they are fine. Air leaks in while they are under vacuum, fuel doesn't always leak out.

    M923 fuel problem

    There is one pump in the system, the high pressure injection pump aka PT pump. No other pump. Sounds like you have an air leak somewhere between the PT pump and the tank. 30 year old fuel lines are probably due to be replaced.

    Expansible lights

    Look for led lights, most will work on both 12 and 24 volt. TruckLite makes 24v military units

    Have you figured out what the problem(s) is?

    Air Cleaner Modifications

    Before everyone runs out and throws money at this, don't expect to see or feel a noticeable gain. These are 20,000lb+ trucks, not your honda civic race car. I'm running a donaldson housing capable of 1350 cfm and noticed no difference on my turbo'd 250. The only reason I got a new housing was...

    No fuel suction

    You can get enough pressure in the tank just using a blow nozzle and rag. It's safer that way too since you don't have to worry about over pressurizing it as much.

    No fuel suction

    Did you try it with the fuel cap off? The vent line could be plugged.

    What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    The dump bed looks great, I've been on the fence for a while. I really like the idea of the dump bed but are the sides strong enough to handle much use? The drop side beds seem flimsy when the tail gate is down and unlatched.

    Michelin 365 XZL Very Bad Tire Shake

    Peashooter has sold tons of those adapters so I doubt thats it but any good tire shop should be able to check them out and see exactly where the issue is.

    Are you sure it's not your wheel adapters?

    12V and 24V alternators on 8.3L

    Looks great! I will be doing something similar to my A1. I think a separate alternator and battery for 12v is the way to go. Nice work!

    which super singles for a M925 that will pull a load

    If your hauling and running lots of miles, stick with duals. Any commercial tire shop has 11.00r20's because they are common on older dump trucks and container chassis. Good luck finding 14.00R20's anywhere but surplus sellers. Not nearly as common. Now it's up to you to decide on cool or...

    My M936A2 is doing 53 in 5th gear at 2200 rpm.

    It sounds like it needs to go to the allison shop. Open the wallet.

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    So to sum it up, here is your to-do list. 1. Check all fluid levels and check for cross contamination 2. Put some diesel in it!!! 1/8 tank is not enough. 3. If item 1 looks ok, start it up, recheck fluids and look for the leaks. It could have been run too low on fuel AND have cooling system...

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    It's definitely coolant, did you check the coolant level (and other vital fluids) before the trip? How about after the failure? It's probably not a tranny problem. Could be a liner or head gasket issue though. Have you had it serviced at all since purchasing it? I'm local to you so PM...

    NHC 250 part identification

    Thanks for the info, Will. Mine is in the return line from the head between the head and the PT pump/return to tank line. I have an slight air issue I've been trying to find so I'm working my way through the system.

    NHC 250 part identification

    First, I looked in the TM and I'm not saying it isn't there, but I didn't find it. This is in the return line on the NHC 250 and I've never seen it on the older PT engines I've worked on. What is it and what's it's purpose? Thanks in advance
