    Swapping a Cummins 290 into a M939 series truck

I've heard if you find an engine from a Western Star or Ford truck, it's a straight forward swap. They use the same front mount so no cutting and welding needed. This info was from Cummins NW when I had my truck in for service.

    m817 transfer case output bearing

I have a unit from an M54a2 that I'll rip apart someday. I don't want to swap the 138 for the 1138, just the gears if possible. I want to keep my air shift.

    m817 transfer case output bearing

I've always wondered if you could swap gears around to have the 1 to 1 ratio in the 1138 case. My m923 has 16.00r20s so I don't need the overdrive, 1 to 1 would be perfect for me.

    Rebuilt truck worth the price?

I agree with Csm Davis, stay away from RRAD rebuilds. All of the ones I've seen or owned have more issues than a non rebuilt rig. A fresh coat of CARC isn't a fix all, especially when applied right over the rust. The moral of the story is do a thorough inspection or don't bid. I've seen...

    M923 trans trouble

To answer the question, you may be feeling the torque converter lock, not the 2-3 shift. Count your shifts next time you run it up to highway speed.

Post pics of your auxiliary lighting

I'm looking for ideas on mounting my truck lite driving lights. I have 2 aux, 2 spot and 4 flood lights. I'm using 2 of the 4 floods as backup lights and 2 as side lighting. I'd like to use the 4 spots and aux lights on the front. Any ideas? Here is a pic of my backup lights

    road truck

What would be the point? Then you just have a leaky, loud, uncomfortable and gutless road truck without 6wd. With the amount of time and money you'd spend to castrate the truck, you could buy a tractor and a 6x6 to have the best of both worlds.
