I know we've seen that in the bottom of our bulk tanks when water and algae are present. A little HEET and algecide(sp?) and it will clear out. That black stuff will take out the newer diesel IPs, not sure how it will affect these older ones.
My m1009 has 69k on the drive train & 33k on the engine, and I'm getting 20mpg. The Blaze is stock except for some better flowing mufflers. I drive about 36 miles round trip to work, the first 5 miles has about 15 stop lights and I average 65-70 mph on the last 13 miles. Don't know if it's the...
Sorry to hear that you're done with it. The engine swap Really is easier than one might think. I did it with hand tools, engine stand and engine crane. It was my first ever swap, still have all my digits, most of my hair and the M1009 is still running great. Good luck with which ever way you go!!
I've been there right with you!! The last time, the screw driver stuck perfectly in my tool box lid. I've never been so glad that something I threw didn't bounce!!!
Have you load tested both batteries? Mine started to do that before the rear battery died. I originally thought the starter or starter relays were dying.

Glad you found it quicker than I did!

All it really takes is a press and release during the wait cycle. As Barrman wrote, it cuts off when the coolant reaches 95 degrees. I do this every time I starts, lets me know when the engine has warmed up.
During the start up "Wait" cycle do you press the throttle peddle to the floor? The solenoid has enough strength to hold the throttle open, but not enough to get it there on it's own.
I found my original "fast idle solenoid" not functioning, but someone had adjusted it to ALWAYS hold the throttle on high. After cleaning all the contacts on the circuit and adjusting it back off, it worked fine. If it isn't getting voltage, it shouldn't be holding the throttle open. Apply a...
Welcome from SouthEast Texas! I make over to Canyon Lake a couple of times each year, if you need anything relocated from this area to yours, all you got to do is holler.
