Does anybody know if the M916's that are being released from the government now have 5,6 or 7 speed allisons in them ? What is the top speed on these trucks with the different transmissions ? I also dont see any air ride cabs on them, Im guessing they didnt do that to many of these trucks.
I would bet most of the "towed on to lot " trucks have been run out of fuel....none of the fuel gauges work. Both of the M929s i picked up were out of fuel.
These trucks run much better on the road loaded or empty than the M817's. I put 14.00's on mine and it really didnt hurt the power. I love these truck's...alot of my friends tell me they like the old ones better.....they call my M939's pu$$y trucks lol
An M931A2 will pull a 16,000 lb load fine. Its when you get up in the 25,000 lb + load they start doggin down. Today i had a 12,000 lb trailer and a 38,000 lb machine on my M932A2. Its a slow start but eventually your riding with traffic.. but throw a hill in the mix and shes wheezin.
If the front was geared faster than the rear the sprag would lock as soon as you started driving. The only way a over running sprag would work is if the front and rear drive the same speed..... when one slips , it goes faster and locks the sprag.
Hey Derrick Im sure you remember how the tires on the m923 were cupped and worn with a really bad pattern. Remember how it used to bind up and almost try to stop. The stress on a truck that heavy locked in all wheel drive is crazy, its a miracle it didnt break. It was really bad and that was...
If you try hard enough you can make 11.00's rub on the rear. These trucks really articulate. If you run 5 ton combat wheels on the front 16.00's will rub at full lock, they dont rub with hemtt wheels, even off road. The bed on my m932 is cut so the tires dont line up with the spot...
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll knock a stud out and go to haskell. Some of the newer looking rims have an oring that looks flat or maybe triangular , they have a channel it fits into. Ive seen the round o rings that are flattened, but these actually have sharp molded edges. I'll get...
Does anyone know where i can get the studs that hold the super single rim halves together. This rim is an older rim with the smaller diameter studs. I'd like as much info on the 2 stud sizes as possible. I took a bunch of these rims apart and found what looks to be at least 3 different o...
M932a2
:driver:16.00's on hemtt's on front 5 ton rims on rear.... 8.3 ....bigger turbo....more timing...lots more fuel and a straight thru 5 in muffler
Its not always the shear pin. My buddy borrowed my M817 , accidently put the winch in high range and drove the truck down the road. The winch clutch was disengaged. When he got to 2100 rpm in 3rd gear the shaft spit right out the bottom bashing the oil pan on its way .....real mess. That pto...
