    Fording Part Identification

A pre-cleaner would have kept the mice out of mine. How to put a price on it. Might be rare but how much demand. Us guys here? I have other things to save for.

    Fording Part Identification

Is there anything inside the cap like a pre-cleaner? I have always wondered why there was no pre-cleaner mounted on the G749 air cleaner like on the M35's.

    Fording Part Identification

That is cool. I am guessing the hinge looking part bolts to the dash some place.

    1953 M37 value?

That tailgate looks straight and not too rusty. That would be worth around $500.

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

Well I do have another spare tank but want to try and repair this one first and keep the other one as a spare.

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

Well it was a nice day here in the south. So I took to sand blasting. Here is the before for the corner and the after. Oh joy, now I have pin holes to repair. Just shows how bad the rust was. Here is where the blasting ended near the baffle. The rest I will blast another day...

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

If I cut the outside and weld I am not sure I can get the tank to seal. Now I can reach anyplace in the tank.

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

You are just a few steps ahead of me. I have the same instructions. I have my Phosphoric acid ready, acetone and I plan on using this tank sealer - http://www.hirschauto.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GTS It claims to be alcohol resistant. We will see. I just know with these sealers you need to...

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

I have given up on the sharp stones and the muratic acid. I have declared total war on the xm211 fuel tank. I got the plasma cutter out and cut the baffles. I will wield them back later. In the photos you can see the rust I can't get out. Next I will use the sand blaster.

    Treasure haul today

Nice looking batt box. No lid with it?

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

This tank I consider safe to wield. I have run so much water and cleaners through it.

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

I had a thought on the drive home from work. I can get my arm inside the tank where the pump opening is. Instead of cutting a hole in the outside of the tank I could cut a hole in the baffle. Then I could get the sand blasting nozzle in there. Then when it gets nice and clean weld the...

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

I did use some sharp stones in the tank and strapped it to the forks of my tractor to shake it. Its a 60 gallon tank so its hard to strap to a wheel. The gravel did get a lot of rust but there is just a lot there. Alan

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

Well it has been a long road working on this fuel tank. Sometime in Jan I bought some molasses and turned the tank on end with the pump and filler opening on the up end. I poured in the molasses and hot water. Then I added enough water to fill the tank so the water level was just at the pump...

    Parts M211

True, overall the truck is not bad. Engine is stuck. I am not sure how bad. No intake or exhaust manifolds are there. Transmission is really greasy looking. Radiator has a cut place in the lower tank. (Looks like tractor fork marks to me.) But yes I have seen worse.

    Parts M211

I got the tank support arms. (Should have brought a hammer and chisel to bust rusted nuts) Plus I got the spare tire shield and the front metal plate that bolts on the bumper.

    Parts M211

Yeah! Went to check out a local gents old M211 in the woods. Not much of the truck left but the fuel tank support arms and metal straps where still in place! :clinto:

All that plumbing under the hood

They are not that bad when they are working.

All that plumbing under the hood

Take a trip down to Ralph's place and see if he has any pump rebuilding kits. The kit will have a new armature and the four rubber support rods for holding the pump in place. (Get a few and share them out) ;) Other than that kit the rest is just cleaning out.

    Parts M211

About a month ago when it was dry I shoveled out the cab of this truck from the leaves and debris inside. I found a usable headlight ring. Then I put a tarp over the cab and almost all of the front. It shed rain good but the snow we had made an impression that collected a bunch of water. I...
