Yeah the ebay auction is I don't think has much to do with the reason this thread was started, but it does give hope. I am thinking from what I have found is that people are mistaking the RDS 90 Axle 11162-01 selectro hub that do go for $405 with the ones that fit the deuce.
This is the missing link to the ebay auction.

One person should call to inquire how to place an order at this price, and then pass it on the rest of us. This is probably an error, and if everyone calls by themselves we will spill...

That thrown rod in a can can actually be used just as well as the fancy kit. You can do it solo too by just spraying it out the passenger foldup window while cranking it. Limited amounts of course is key.
I can get you the part numbers for the plugs for Quickstart. They are helpful, so they might be willing to hook you up with just the plugs. I think the actual injector plug is not a pipe thread, but just straight which is kind of weird.
Since there is very little to these lock mechanisms I would guess that you have your lock cylinders clocked wrong. Both the old and new cylinders are probably ok if they are doing the same thing. Your key slot should be vertical with the thick back of the key on the top. If not that then...
RE: Re: RE: door locks on m1008
Yeah from what I understand all the M1009s and M1008s came from the factory with a single universal key that worked both the door and ignition. I remember reading that some units got sick of their trucks being borrowed, so they re-keyed the ignition.
Welcome to SS. You did not say what your problem with the locks is, but my door locks were very stiff when I got my M1009 home. Some NAPA (or other) lock lubricant fixed it right up. I also hit all my other cars, and house doors too. If something is actually wrong with you lock then I would...
alphadeltaromeo you had better check your policy for the deuce. I called up the insurance provider to inquire about coverage, and talked to Pam's assistant. As I don't live in Ga. they could not cover me, but he did refer me to a provider. By the way there were very nice and helpful. They...
I probably should have tried the box out before I sent it off, but I am comfortable with the spring. I guess I can't really compare. I am really looking forward to hit the pull-it-yourself yard to see if I can find a good modern seat to try out. Stock on the outside, comfortable on the inside.
The other day in the mess tent existence of metal M105 bows came up, so I figured I would take some pics of the varying types that I have in my mountains of sides and bows. The fist pics shows the corner with the metal corner and wood center. The center bow is an all metal with a one piece...
Looks good. Were you able to take the sides of by yourself? It would not be that hard to find or make some adapters that would allow you to use those side hinges as tie down spots.
Why would I need safety glasses I have only scratched my cornea once. It kind of surprised me too as I was using a grinder, and who would have expected junk to come off with that. I do use safety glasses often, however my usual usage line is anything that has a motor attached, high pressure...
Finally got it. It took a breaker bar on that poor little pipe threaded plug. I guess the maintenance guy wanted to REALLY make sure it did not work itself loose. Anyways I remembered that I had a set of sockets with the allen key on one side. I put a 1/2" drive impact drive socket backward...
I have never been able to remove the square drain plug that you are supposed to drain the remaining oil from the cans from. I have tried to get it with the 7/16" box wrench suggested, but it just won't cut it. I can't find any other regular tools that can fit it there to get the job done. I...
Re: RE: Alternator size?
There are things like that out there. The off-road guys have all sorts of toys like onboard welders that make AC power and such. They are expensive though. Poke around over at k5colorado.com. The problem though for prolonged usage is that you are running a 130+ HP...
I used my car and work van to run the sump, fridge, and other basics when the power was out for a week+ during Isebel. I used those solid state inverters. This was a 12vdc to 110vac inverter. From my experience I would not worry about the alternator size as much as having quality batteries...
