Not sure of the 90Deg fitting on the engine to the cable, can't find it in the TM's. If it is the cable jacket you might check with Memphis equipment.

    New Deuce buyer (MAYBE) Questions

First thing to find out before going any further is does the owner have a transferable title for that truck with matching vin number. I wouldn't conceder it without a clean title. Next step would be to see if you can get it started with some fresh batteries and fuel. Nothing would ruin your day...

Mep-002a percent rated current meter help

You are correct in your thinking what the spec stands for. Your meter has FS=1AAC which means Full Scale deflection is obtained with 1 Amp A.C. The meter you have found has a different FS value. Weird knocking noise

To make it a one man job I used a remote starter switch hooked to the “magnetic relay” and used a compressor wrench to fine tune the position of the rocker arm.

    Deuce (Multifuel) just won't start

One easy check to do is verify that the plunger in the HH is moving when you crank the engine. Didn't see in your post were you checked that. 2cents

    Deuce ate a valve seat

Having the time to do it I would much prefer to do a rebuild. That gives you the chance to magnaflux and check the rods for stretch and twist considering how they seem to love to try to escape. Also you can take the opportunity to mic the crank for wear and out of round journals and runout.
