Three suggestions on the oil filter can. One of our members has a spin on kit to make replacements much easier and can be found in the classifieds under parts for sale. You could put a add in the classified section under parts wanted. Also Delk's seem to have a all these little odds and ends...

Welcome to the group from another citizen of the Peoples Republic of Maryland. There is a monthly get-to-gather breakfast on the second Saturday at Bob Evans Restaurant located on Liberty Rd (Rt 26) just West of Sykesville Rd (Rt 32) - 1211 Liberty Road Eldersburg, that m816 someday coordinates.
Well judging buy the flame heater setup and the turbo style I would guess a LDS-465 although the starter is setup like a 2.5 ton install. Just my guess.
Nice looking power plant. Sorry to hear about the tire problem. The trailer rated tires always seem to be prone to this type of failure more so than the LT style tires.
Well it sounds like you have the beacons for a convoy/wrecker warning light set. There are pole mounts made to mount to the back of the cab for these or a gun ring.
Not that I'm an expert on these things but that control cube with the louvers might indicate that it is a MEP-023a 400hz unit. The couple of MEP-18a I have seen and my 18a do not have the louvers like in the picture you posted.
Erik's has the entire assembly but I don't see the element list by it's self. You might also try Memphis and Eastern.
Air Compressor Intake Filter Assembly, M35A2 and M54A2 Series, MS53005-1

Here is one source for the NOS kit.

You might also check the usual suspects like Memphis, Eastern and Erik's. Might want to post a "wanted" add in...
If I understand your description correctly than I think this is the piece you are looking for.

It goes between the headlight panel and the radiator. Eastern list them for $45 a piece.
Did the coolant level in the radiator drop any. With the radiator cap removed is there any bubbling in the coolant ? Any indication that there is coolant getting in the oil ?
