M35 frame turned into a trailer

I am cutting up a bolster trailer next week.....if anyone is inerested in the lunette and a few feet of the tongue let me know and I will cut off a few feet and save it. IMHO that would be ideal to make a trailer out of a deuce frame and bed. I plan to put the axles from the bolster under...

A heads up for HEMTT seekers

Appearently they are squirriley on the road too...saw one flip over going down a hill at Fort Benning back in the 80's.....the driver said the backend tried to pass the front when he braked and he took the ditch to keep from head-oning a bus. Doubt if they will go out the gate whole.

    any help can help.

I drove the Command version in Korea for 18 months (I was the Battalion Commanders Driver) and I can tell you that they are noisy, hot, hard to manuver in traffic and are high maintainence. I recommend a long drive in city traffic in the middle of summer before you commit. Parts will eat...

    a bridge too weak

I saw something simular in Germany back in 1975 during the annual Reforger training exercise. The tank ignored the ford across the creek and dropped through the center span of a bridge. I went out with our wrecker driver to assist with moving cribbing timbers. While we were there a chopper...

    M920/916/915 Air Conditioner

There was a M915 at the MVPA convention in Evansville a few years ago with added air conditioner. The owner said it was a standard kit that fit the 400 Cummins and mounted under the dash. Should be an easy addition.

I have two M35A2's and the M275 tractor.....prob my limit. The days of 1000 dollar running deuces (I bought 4 at one time for that price) are prob over. What I want to know is what happened to the War Stocks trucks. Many years ago I went to the National Training Center in CA......we were...

why CUCV is better than a Deuce (just fun)

I'd rather hitchhike with the key to my deuce lock and chain in my pocket than own a CUCV.

    Deuce/5 ton ROPS Kit?

I would say that there will be a lawyer or two involved before it is over.......from the description of the accident someone has incurred major liability.

    R.I.P--SHOOTINIRON--James Ruman

I echo the sentiments of all those who have commented on this thread.......this is a great loss to the SS family and I'm sure to his family. Do we have someone with a Paypal account that would be willing to sponsor and maintain a "Cards and flowers" fund so that when something like this...

    Towing deuce with deuce

If you use two rubber tarp straps to tie off the steering wheel (one on either side) the wheel will always go back to center (assuming you tied it off at center). I towed one from Little Rock, AR to AL and never had the wheels to go wacky on me.

    New Section Idea??

I'd rather hitchhike with a Ford Key in my pocket than drive a Chevy.

    M820 van fuel consumption

Top speed.........53 MPH downhill with a 40 MPH tailwind. MPG.....depending on your ability....3-4 MG if you hold it at 50 MPH.....you are in a heavy vehicle with the aerodynamics of a concrete block. If fuel milage is a concern you are barking up the wrong vehicle.

    loadout at redstone

They will load them but not stack them inside one another. If Adam (Teresa's son) is still there he will set it up there as easy as you please.

It will tolorate some.....years ago (before the EPA nazies stepped in) big trucking companies used to burn their waste oil in their vehicles.......as mentioned above filter very well........centrifuge quality filtering. I would install a pyrometer to watch the EGT....especially in a hard pull...
