Probably a dumb newby ? but here goes

When you do a swap like that you lose the muti-fuel capability of the original engines. That is one reason I like them as is. Would I do a swap to get more HP and speed? Yep...if I had the resouces, time and the expertise. If you don't mind ponying up for diesel fuel go for it.

    Darrell Braun FANSITE!! HAHAHA

I once considered Darrell a friend......until he screwed me, FreightTrain, Timtrucks and several other SS members. He is suffering from several self-inficted mental wounds. He did a half-a$$ed bob job on a deuce for me. If I hadn't helped him the job prob would never would have been completed...

    Seats

I used the Army issue shelter halfs to cover a seat for my deuce tractor. Took the seat and two halfs to my upholsery dude and he hooked me up. Don't have pics on this puter but they turned out real good. He put the snaps on the sides so they wouldn't poke me and the USthat was printed on the...

    Electric Heater

Find a JC Whitney catalog (or try website). They used to have a large selection of electric heaters for vehicles. Heat is not so much a need as is defrosters...we drove from Indiana to AL in a snow storm.....the 5 ton tractor I was driving never got cold enough to bother me (plenty of heat...

    HEMTT Prices and availability

Ted's Trucks in Dothan, AL has several in different conditions. They are for sale but all of them I saw would need a lot of work. I didn't ask prices but since they are rare I suspect they aren't cheap. Ted is a good guy with a BIG playground full of Green Iron.

    M35 tow-bar an M820?

Yesterday I had a friend tow my M816 wrecker to another LZ with his large rollback. All went well until he tried to turn into the driveway. He had the steering wheel secured so the wheels would not turn too sharp. We planned to stop and unsecure the wheel prior to making the sharp turn into the...

Bud Boy and I did our good deed today!

Any good deed you do will come back to you. Years ago I was in New Orleans and some ladies had locked their keys in their car. It was not in a nice area of the "Big Easy" and they were out of town tourists. I happened to have an old wire coat hanger in my truck and I managed to pop the lock...

    Wreckerman loves Jessica

There may come a time when "we the people" need a good inventory of military vehicles. Good old fashioned, reliable vehicles that can be repaired with hand tools, baling wire and duct tape. "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes".

    Wreckerman loves Jessica

Tim....I didn't check fuel milage but it prob got around 5-6 MPG since I bob tailed up there. That trailer is heavy and has two axles (more drag) and has the aerodynamics of a cement block so I know milage wasn't all that great. Without a speedo I could not check fuel consumption against miles...

Well me and Jessica (my new M915) had our first long date yesterday. We left the Motor Pool in Alabama at dark thirty Tues. morning headed to Fort Campbell, KY to pick up my big command van trailer. All was well until I got about 40 miles from Campbell and the headlights went out about 0530. I...
