If I were to try this it would be with an A3 deuce....already has an automatic (with cable shifter) so mechanical transmission linkage would not be needed. You could prob adapt the fuel pedal to work with a cable too.
I would use a commerical cab (Peterbuilt or Kenworth) since cabovers are cheap...
When my 250 Cummins tried to go high order it was because fuel had got past the pump seals and filled the crankcase with a diesel/motor oil mixture.
I had put a temp fuel tank on the back deck of the wrecker and the weight of the fuel pushed it past the pump seals.
When I cranked it up it idled...
I had my wrecker insured with Progressive commerical.....before the engine went teats up.
They knew it was a wrecker and that I would occasionally pull a vehicle with it.
I now have the M915 insured in the wreckers place and pay a little over 500 a year.
My plan is now to get a Holms kit and use...
The 915 has a power divider that can be engaged when on slippery surfaces...it is engaged with a small lever in the cab...basically makes all wheels on the rear axles pull....not for high speed travel.
Do not use the jake brakes on slippery surfaces...the compression can cause the rear wheels to...
Buying stuff in a can or a triwall from GL is like going to a proctologist....you know what the end result will be...you just don't know how far the finger is going to go in.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
I remember years ago (as a young soldier in the 1970's army) I sketched out something like that and showed it to our Motor Sgt.
Obviously thinking I had too much time on my hands he...
Before you buy one remember you need a Commercial Drivers License for this vehicle.
You will also have to have a commercial insurance policy, I just paid around $300.00 for 6 months through Progressive.
I can put farm tags on mine but some states require that you get a DOT number and IFTA...
You can get a lot of aluminum and copper out of those but you will work your arse off for it.
To have been built by the lowest bidder those suckers are put together.
Ask me how I know.
What happened to the inflatable shelters?????
Sounds like a good excuse for a mini-rally........maybe at Noccalulla Falls one sunny weekend.
There are about six or seven of us in the immediate area.
Hey folks.....I am in a slight bind right now. I sold my M109 to Lamar Rowland (winner of the SS award at the MVPA convention this year) and I have made several agreed to repairs to it.
The last fix is a replacement alternator.....both of my spares are bad and I need one ASAP, preferably in the...
I have a 35 foot drop deck commo van (attached to lime green tractor in pic) that is my tool storage/work shop until I get a perm shop.
Get it level and make sure it doesn't leak. I ran all the sheet metal joints with a wire brush on an angle grinder. I then applied sealer to all of them.
My van...
I have some pics of "Gate Guardians" artillery on my other puter.
I'll transfer them to my laptop and post them if I can.
You may be thinking of the "Long Tom" with the 8 wheeled carriage.
Several of them on Fort Benning, Ga. on static display.
Just looking at them I think it would take a hoss...
I am in Alabama and have one for sale......$600.00, no SF-97...bill of sale only.
Getting it to you might be a prob but they can be pulled by a small pickup truck.
Is your genny at Camp Shelby?
I look at it like this...it's you chicken and you can pluck it any way you want to....I'll just sit back and watch the feathers fly.
I know there are a lot of purists out there but the bottom line is you are free to be as creative as you want to be and they are free to "roast" you. I wouldn't...
It's been a while since I saw a J.C. Whitney catalog but I seem to remember that they had a lot of heavy duty electric heater/defroster units at one time.
I think some of them even mounted on the firewall and had ducts.
As Clinto said, I usually need a defroster more than a heater...especially...
You are in the "Green Iron Belt"....lots of good folks in that area.
Welcome to the "Green Iron Support Group".
"I'm Richard and I'm a Green Iron Addict".......I can stop anytime I want to.....but why.
The pedal is basically an electrical switch that activates the jakes.
As long as the pedal is depressed, and your foot is off the fuel, the jakes will be on.
The range switch on the dash selects how many cylinders are used in the braking process(2-4-6).
Not sure about the interlock issue.
