If GL gets up off my EUC :x I'm up for a road trip. Freight train would prob be in too. Keep the faithful posted. :)

    Ordered the 9 speed today....

Someone in my local Buy/Sell rag has a 9 speed for sale for $400.00. The ad said "shifted good when pulled out". There was a 3406 Cat motor for sale with the same phone number listed so I think someone was parting out a commercial rig. If the tranny is in good shape is that a good price? How...

    Repair of The Worm

Inquiring (naa just plain nosey) minds want to know...what happened? Did someone tag you or was it just a case of "nut loose behind steering wheel"? :)

I just blew my tranny in atlanta. HELP!

If you can't find one near Hotlanta you are not too far from Shorty's in Alexandria, AL. He has several cannibilized vehicles on the yard. Contact info: Shorty's 7744 Al Highway 144 Alexandria, AL 36250 (256) 892-3131

    GL or Private sale?????

P.S. To the above: The best price I found from a private buyer on a deuce was $3200.00 and it didn't have a cab cover or air shift. I paid $1700.00 from GL and am happy with it. See pics on my post. If you don't mind waiting on the EUC, IMHO GL is a good way to go. If you want instant...

    GL or Private sale?????

"Buyer loads" generaly means that if the forklift is broke they don't have to listen to you complain. I have bought stuff and the GL guy loaded it even though it said "buyer load" on the site info. Some sites are remote and unmanned except when the GL guy comes to meet you and open the gate. In...

    Wreckerman got one!!!!!

Many thanks to herc69 for going to Ft. Jackson and checking the deuce out. [thumbzup] I am waiting with baited breath (worms taste nasty) for GL to process my EUC. As soon as that happens I will be going over to meet my new mistress. :D

    Communism revisited

The key word here is "commercial". Weigh stations check for overloaded vehicles, inspect driver logbooks, DOT physicals, cargo manifests, do safety inspections and try to make commercial traffic as safe as possible. If you are not engaged in a "for hire" enterprise you are exempt since you...

    need to borrow a dolly.

Here is another idea since you are near Fort Jackson. Call Jackson Transportaion and get the number for Fort Polk Transportaion. Call them and see if there is a big rig delivering something out there. They usually have the company name and a POC for inbound freight. If the driver needs a back...

    Wreckerman got one!!!!!

She don't even know about the old wench  Not sure if it is a runner. I'm going to see if I can get somebody near there to check it out for me while I wait for the EUC. (big hint to jwaller) ADR.....we will definatly let you know when we are passing through. Maybe we can meet at the...

    Wreckerman got one!!!!!

I finally took the plunge and won a deuce off of GL today at Fort Jackson, SC. Hard top, winch, airshift and "redneck gun turret". [thumbzup] I paid $ 1700.00 before GL and South Carolina get their pound of flesh. As soon as I get the EUC, Freighttrain and I will go over and bring her...

    need to borrow a dolly.

So you got my trailer you dirty rat!!!!!! Just kidding, I was drooling over it myself. We had them when I was here at Fort Benning many years ago. We called them "Air Force Traiers" and pulled them behind our 5 ton tractors. We could haul two 4000 lb. rough terrain forklifts on them. They...

    International 6X6 photos wanted

That is a cool looking rig. The only problem I have have with that cab configuration is if the cab does not tilt. It is a real PITA to work on an engine where the only access is through the floor. If I were going to build one from scratch I would put in the tilt feature.

    Deuce Mud Run Advice Needed

Freighttrain had a bad experience mudding his deuce. You need to make sure all of the seals are good. If you get mud and water in the knuckles and other internals you will be spending some bucks to repair it. I know these trucks were built to take it (I have dogged many of them) but you have to...

    m811 on gl

Well folks....just to put my 2cents in. I check GL out at least weekly. If I find anything I might be interested in I put it on my watch list. The site is very much visited and I don't think anyone looking for such a vehicle would not know about it. I know before I bid what my limit is and I...
