Ah.. You must have an A1. You're lucky enough to have a nice little "filler" door in the cab. In the A2, because the engine is smaller, the dipstick tube is in front of the firewall, kind of below where the turbo sits. A major pain having to strap in a long funnel with ties, then climb up and...
Weird.. Is the wheel really that close to the door in your truck? Your truck must have a smaller cab than my M939 series truck. Or maybe a bigger steering wheel?
For what it's worth, someone told me that there is a screw or something on them to adjust the sound. Never actually took a look at that though. I do agree that the stock horns leave a lot to be desired.. I say you should get yourself a train horn ;)
Those Military Guys sell an overhead console with a speaker for softtops and hardtops. It also can be fitted with a radio, or whatever else you want. I also recall seeing a member here with a radio mounted underneath the dash.. Can't remember who it was though.
Lovely weather you're having.. Yeah I have used the 5 ton wipers in a very heavy downpour, but I have yet to use them during heavy driven snow. Although, they do move pretty fast on high speed.
Yeah that's how it is done on my A2 5-ton.. Back through the dipstick tube. The 4 gallons of trans fluid took a LONG time to put in, especially since it is in a bit of an awkward spot :(
Well based on what he said, looks like it would be $280 Canadian (20% of $1000 is $200, then multiply that by 1.4 exchange rate.) That's not too bad for a heavy duty truck starter.
