    M35a2 oils

This doesn't look so bad to me. First gear is chewed up. Some rust on a few parts. The input shaft has a bit of a wobble to it. I didn't notice anything else that looked worn out.

    Clutch Return Spring

The clutch linkage has an offset in it. If it were installed upside-down then it would bind.

    M35a2 oils

My M35A2 is new to me. I have only owned it for 5 months now. I've only been driving it for 2 months. My transmission is in bad shape and will be removed from the truck today after work. I know it has gear oil but I don't know what type.

    I couldn't find one.

Unless someone can come up with something that indicates otherwise.

    Spicer 3053A shifting problems

Wouldn't the procedure be the same?
  8. Big Dumb Truck

    M35a2 oils

I'm trying to learn everything I can but when I put a question out there they mostly go unanswered. So instead of working on the truck I end up searching the Internet for the answers. They may not even be the right answers, but that's what I found.

    Spicer 3053A shifting problems

This is a link to Spicer's page. Look under "service manuals" then go to ES60-5 & CM59 series. It may help. http://tdtsupply.com/spicertransmissionpart/spicer-transmission-service-manuals.html

    Deuce worth the money?

i paid $6,500 for mine. it's in about the same condition. you will be spending a minimum of $1,000 and at least 100 hours on bearing and seals (just like i did) from what i see in your pictures. i think i paid too much. i hope this helps.

    New guy from York, PA

Welcome from Birdsboro Pa. I sent you a PM.

Threw a rod through my engine block.

Do you know what the root cause of the problem is? Did the connecting rod break at the wrist pin or along it's length?

    Custom ground cam.

Great article. Unfortunately it doesn't talk about exhaust gas temperature. I am of the opinion that the LDT. was designed with a very low horsepower output as an attempt to limit the max speed (MPH) of the deuce to the max nationally posted speed limit at the time it was manufactured. If we...

    Steering wheel chain lock ...

Mine is bolted to the web in the doorway. The nut is welded to the bolt. I have seen others like this too. I never saw any of the others mentioned above.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You may need to take out some shims from the front side to tighten up the pinion shaft. The front (input side) seems to wear out before the rear (output side).

    Air powered wipers stuck

I cleaned mine inside and out with WD-40. It only helped for a few minutes. Not a good fix.
  19. Big Dumb Truck

    Air powered wipers stuck

One of mine is at least 3 time faster than the other. It goes so fast that the arm keeps coming loose.

    Air powered wipers stuck

I hate my air powered wipers and plan on getting electric ones. I have gotten my wipers to work perfectly only to have them act up the next time I turned them on. They are so out of here.
