first engine oil change cummins NHC 250

Use a funnel and hose to direct it to your 5 gal bucket or container & consider buying a fumoto drain plug to replace OE Ditto on converting to a spin on and you can get much better media for filtering as the spin on come in extended drain interval and HD. https://www.fumotousa.com/

Help with a couple auction pics - name that part...

Looks like the harness for the light switch as some of the screws are not in the dash switch. 2nd one is a battery hold down as the batteries are under the passenger seat.

    Brake calipers and pads

Which rear calipers do you have? Standard ones with old parking brake or the newer style parking brake? Newer style is pricey and hard to find. Not sure if they even have a kit available?

    Exhaust manifold bolt size?

If 10.9 is on the head of the bolt, that is the hardness in metric like grade 8 in sae.

How much difference does new shocks make?

Oe are old school oil shocks. Change to a modern gas charged shock should help quite a bit.

    Light switch differences?

There is also more than one manufacture of the digital switch. I have a 2nd generation of the original in my m923 and a narton which has a different depth on the face in my m998. Ymmv

    Decon stuff

Blue force tracking is the magnetic antenna mount. Also used on other trucks. Common on front of hmmwv windshields also Picture of one on my m923 thread. The m43 pic is the remote alarm for the system. Probably can be made to sound with 24v and a switch?

    "D/F" painted over hoods.

Must be a USMC code as those trucks pictured are all USMC. Sandcobra on here might be able to answer?

    Tires

You can use modern commerical radial truck tires also with a radial tube instead of the old bias ply. Lots of surplus 11 x 20 out there and some 10 x 20. I do not sell them directly but know someone selling radials close to New Orleans if you would like a referral. Also might be able to find...

    HMMWV replacement tires

Off road ok to use in the middle of no where. Downright scary for any interstate or street use over 20 mph. Quite a liability issue if you have an accident..... IMHO

    HMMWV replacement tires

My preference is the BFG baja's. Mine are load range D with excellent traction and wear plus a great ride with 35psi and run flats on 24 bolt wheels. YMMV.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I am not familiar with the hmmwv serpentine set up but I sold parts in another lifetime. If you had 8 rib pulleys, there is no way a 6 rib belt is going to hold up or even line up correctly for long time due to the shoulders not riding correctly. Maybe to get you off the highway but the PO did...

    Alternator questions

Southern Electric is a source for parts or rebuilt units assuming it is the stock 60 amp unit. The stock unit also fits lots of other series trucks so check the classifieds also. But do your self a favor, basic troubleshoting should be load testing each battery first to make sure they are good...

SMALLER! Tires and Wheels for a HMMWV Trailer

Are those tires tube type? If so, much easier to use a commercial civy tire with no tubes that can be serviced anywhere. Most places Don't mess with tubes unless hd tire store.
