    M1102 trailer surge brake lubrication

On an application like this, the type of grease isn't really all that important. What's important is actually having the points greased that need it. GAA is used because it's the standard multipurpose grease, so it's what should be on hand. It's not a high wear, high stress, fast moving, or...

    Turbo fan shroud

not unless you install everything else to turn it into an ECV truck.

Anyone need a 114" serpentine belt?

Hard to see in your picture, but I can't tell if you have the extra pulley down there between the alternator/generator and the power steering pump. Your power steering reservoir should be up on top of the engine if you do. If so, below is the link to the belt for the newer style setup with the...

24 volt harbor freight jump starter

So it's a pair of small 12V sealed lead acid batteries, and a switch to run them either parallel or in series. I'm sure it will work as a boost pack if your batteries are low, but I seriously doubt you're going to have much luck starting trucks with completely dead batteries. That 3400 peak...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

if it snows where you are at, it gives you a couple more inches before the air intake is plugged up, preventing the truck from starting.

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

If they aren't changing the motor, then cutting the transmission output gearing in half will also half the torque, but double your top speed. But if you were looking at trying to go to a 1:1 differential using the 9.73:1, then going to the 4.5:1 with a 4.88:1 rear end will be basically the same...

Anyone need a 114" serpentine belt?

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/belt-info-on-my-m1123-with-6-5l-serial-number-below-196901.199416/ Does your engine have the extra idler pulley between the generator and the power steering pump? If so, that would explain the 110.2" belt being much too short. If only slightly too short...

    M1102 trailer surge brake lubrication

Trailer manual can be found here: The one for M1101/1102 is 3rd from the bottom https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/tms-for-trailers.77618/ This is the page that shows the lubrication points on the surge brake assembly, and what type of grease.

    Knocking noise

I had an issue with the brake caliper bracket bolts backing out and contacting the ends of the halfshaft bolts on both front calipers. Not exactly a knocking sound, but similar. Just something to check, along with the halfshaft bolts. If you can grab the brake caliper and it moves at all...

    MEP-804b for sale

I believe that you are supposed to, at minimum, set your location to the state you are in, not just "USA" You might want to get that taken care of before the admins get involved.

    installing a batt. disconnect switch

I agree with Action. The only way the batteries should drain with a battery disconnect on the negative is if something else is hooked up into the system causing a drain.

Hydro boost leak - vent tube?

I had to bleed mine the same way. Left the cap off, filled to overflow, turn the wheels back and forth a few times, then refill, turn it on, turn the wheels, and put the cap on and called it good.

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

There does appear to be someone that's done disc brake relocation to the spindle. As for the "cost prohibitive" part, it's going to cost more than the HMMWV did to convert everything to electric, so if the price difference between one larger motor and multiple smaller motors is an issue, then...

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

btw, the differentials are AMC 20. If you do a search for replacement gears, you likely won't find anything that's geared as high as the HMMWV already is. Because of the portal hubs, the end gear ratio is pretty low, but the differential is only about half of the gearing. Looking around, the...

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

Still not seeing the reason to go to a 1:1 rear end gearing. If it's supposed to be a direct drive motor for the wheels, then just eliminate the differential completely and do independent motors for each wheel. If it's supposed to directly replace the engine, but still be hooked up through the...

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

Not likely, as that would require a redesign of the diffs in order to fit the gears. The bigger question is "Why?" you're talking about increasing the output speed by a factor of 2.5-3 times faster, but also drops the input by the same ratio when driving lower speeds. That puts a lot of...

    HMMWV snorkel coupler

Yes, moves it up a little into the line of sight. Upside is, it takes a few more inches of snow before your intake is blocked by it.

    HMMWV snorkel coupler

you are just trying to raise the height of the standard cap, not install a snorkel, correct?

knob on dash - brake controller?

it's an add on of some type, so very unlikely that it will affect anything if removed. I've never seen that particular type of knob used in any HMMWV. As you say your truck doesn't have anything electrical added to it, I wouldn't worry too much.

    Battery Disconnect/Isolator Follow Up Question

The kit I linked above is designed to go to where the fording selector switch is located, of if you have the switch then just below it next to the diagnostic port works also. I think it was about 15 feet of cable total to install in that location. It's all negative cable (unless you installed...
