Little by little, I am getting things done on the truck. Still waiting on a working tach/dwell meter so I can set everything and get back on the road.
I found this neat link that shows what to look for when using a vacuum gauge that was very helpful for me. Click on the green scenario...
I like that idea.
For now, I am going to try the 14451 cups on the new pistons. I'm going to block off the rear brakes for now and just test this on the front to see how it holds up before I do the remaining 8.
I am still trying to solve this issue and prefer to do it once. After jasonjc mentioned having problems with the Napa 14451 cups, it caused me to step back and look some more.
Here are the two seals side by side. The outer lip of the Napa seal is thicker and I can see why this may have caused...
I am using Napa 14451. Is that what you used?
I hope to start on the wheel cylinders this weekend, but probably won't finish all of them. One wheel cylinder is already done.
How did the 350 install work out in your mind?
I should have put the 15306 on this truck but will try to make due with what I have by changing out the pistons and seals. The Napa cups are identical to the military cups out of the original wheel cylinders. Maybe if a bunch of us went together...
That cup in the picture is what came off of the new wheel cylinders. I just slid it on the old piston while trying to figure out the leaks. I will have to look at the NAPA cups that I have. Before I bought new wheel cylinders, I rebuilt the original wheel cylinders on the front. They were...
I would be curious to see what the internals on your new wheel cylinders look like. I am trying to find a solution to my leaks over in the thread I started. Hopefully this can save you the problems I am dealing with. It is a lot of work to change all this out and to be honest, I did not want to...
Plowboy....I was at the end of a 22+ hour day when I read your post last night and missed a few things. I have not had to get on the brakes hard at all. Just normal braking from normal cruising speed. Would be nice if Wagner could be a little more reasonable on those cylinders. I think $70 is...
Check Your Bumpers!
Today I was out at my parts trucks and some stampings on the top driver side of the bumper of #556 caught my eye. A closer look showed that some of the numbers are the registration number that is on the hood! (41121215)
Out of curiosity, I went over to truck #3194 that has...
I will check the vent on the master cylinder to see if anything is clogged. These are new manufacture cylinders so I did not figure the seals would leak.
Maybe I should run a hone through them and replace with NAPA seals?? Maybe reuse the pistons out of the old original wheel cylinders? The...
Before you assembly your truck, check this thread.

I am having problems with my new wheel cylinders that look just like yours. I did not get them from the same place as you so the internals may be different.
About 3 months ago, I purchased 12 brand new wheel cylinders for my M135 from a reputable military parts dealer online. The wheel cylinders looked great and are very close to the originals that were on the truck. All 12 wheel cylinders were installed and the truck has had less than 100 miles on...
It was a little under $63 shipped. I hope this is the right one. I looked through my TM's and searched online for what was supposed to be used with these trucks, but found nothing.
I searched all over for a tach/dwell meter today. No one but the older guys knew what I was talking about. There were none in stock locally and all were over $100. I ended up finding this military tach and dwell tester online and bought it. Looks like it will be next week before I adjust anything.
