huh...... ?????????? you have me completely baffled with this reply. NO clue how this relates to my post..... but then again maybe you accidentally quoted wrong post. Been there done that........ or I poorly explained myself.... Been there done that too LOL.
Im thinking mount a winch on part one... so can poistion a side winch on either side.
wonder if could weld them both togehter to make a rear slide out hitch similar to the A1r has hmmmm.
Good to hear your doing close inspection. One thing to check is flywheel bolts. Few have found them wondering out and worse. Likely can find the thread in here on this and how to tighten them thru inspection space. Maybe just a search for flywheel bolts in this FMTV forum will bring the...
somewhere the PDF on the complete decision to go to the commercial part designs is out there. Have read it. Doc. was not in the 80's. Though it may have started back then and not become "mandated" till later. Pretty sure the Doc. is early 90's. Not sure when it became mandated though...
yup-ish... twas the plan..... but if recall what read...... it was a plan MANDATED by Obama administration? Not a bad concept in keeping supply chain easy to to get parts and to keep cost down...... just trade off ... being mandated; made it harder to go back to custom parts (like armor) cause...
Do you have an A0 or A1? No A2 exist in public hands. Only difference between A0 and A1 is one bearing/bushing change.... and it got different Transmission Control Unit, (TCU) along with different keypad, matching wire harness and sensors. The Elecrical/TCU changes are only cause trans...
Wes (a member here.... and founder of the yellow parts spread sheet at top of this forum.... who did the video you linked) is a pretty well regarded member here. He knows the practical man's backyard; keep it running and working, surgery and maintenance of the 3116 better than most anyone.
by your description of how alt. regulator....... regulates... Too large an alt. for amount of batts is not really an issue in that no potential damage is happening anywhere. It is a waste. YES, . but won't slowly or quickly brick anything alt. or battery related....... where opposite as you...
Service/Start. so the 140 wont back down when it senses what ever is there is full? was going to go to just two 12v agm. I have a small 100amp 24v.... but was hoping to put that on my APU
Balmar 94-140-24-IG w/external regulator MC 624.. likely not the newer version that has lithium charge parameter choice built in.
house .... I can match batts to alternator. Was thinking two large 24v AGM or four 12v. BUT........ my lithium is in the mix..... A dc to dc(ish) device is connected...
Possible solution fell in my lap. little more than wanted to spend but solves couple problems. Two Balamar 24v 140amp alternators with regulators. Price was so good got second one as spare. Pull outs from a military boat apparently. Already have some Bussman converter/balancers I can...
how much of 28v output though is indirectly lost though when you send some juice away thru a converter to create some 12-14v out of the 24-28v bank (with LMTV in mind). Alternator still has to produce enough power to full fill all needs. Such as the dual volt 200amp is think you guessed...
what activates the clutch? Is it electrical clutch?? if so is there sensors that when alt. to hot.... or draging engine down at bad times (say acceleration?) where clutch gets deactivated? Or is it a clutch just to prevent reverse direction like on some Air. Con compressors??
one other symptom.... on occasion it will jump to 26ish volt on dash when driving then go away 5 to 20 min later. does that sound like alternator or regulator?
could be. troubleshooting doc says..... get another known working regulator to test the existing one lol. ohhhhhhhKKKKK like that is simple...
Anyone by miracle have a known working regulator for this beasty?
Have picked up several 12/24 bussman convertors when saw them on sale for inevitable issue to arise like this. one to just balance batteries and other incase this alt goes out.
will check .... about converting.... it is a price game of cost of neihoff regulator, alt., or both (if it is one...
