Left the shop towel and container to dry and let the particles settle overnight, but the wind blew them off the work bench. It seems the gold/bronze sparkles were either bronze or brass. I tried picking them back up with a magnet with no luck.
I guess ill push on and hope for the best after...
Today, i went to engage the rear pto and when i placed xmsn selector in 1-5, i heard clunk as the xmsn engaged. I went ahead and operated the rear winch, which took about 10 min total. I placed the xmsn in N, then discussed the troubleshooting with the wife. I crawled under the tck, had her put...
Sucking air can cause hard/no starting and white smoking. I had a similar issue on my 01 5.9 for loosing prime due to the in tank pump failure, and my 03 5.9 was sucking air between the tank and the FASS pump and would roll a cloud of white smoke.
I took my inline pump and bypassed the truck...
Put an inline elec pump and run a known good fuel line to ip and prime the sys. See if it starts w/o use of stating fluid.
Using starting over the yrs may have already caused engine damage.
a week late and a few dollars short, but here is a vid of a local guy demonstrating the nut welded to the broken bolt method. as he says, gotta use a metric cresent wrench.
how is it coming though with extracting the broken bolts?
Where did get your filter at?
I did the same with my 936, but the first timed i drained it, i put it in a 275gal plastic tote. The sec time i drained, i had to replace 2 lift cyl hyd lines. I didnt have an empty tote so i used 5 gal buckets, fuel cans and 2.5gal jugs. I too pulled my filter bc...
I went to the closest local oreillys and they said they dont have or could get them. Ill go to the other one that seems to have a more knowledgable staff. To my surprise, napa didnt even offer the bulbs.
I noticed since i got my truck, that none of my marker or park/run lights illuminate when the 3 lever switch is placed to the stop light position, but when placed in the drive position, all lights BUT my L and R park/run light illuminate when in svc/drive. Doing some troubleshooting and looking...
Yep, saw that price increase too. I too need to replace at least all the m/f connectors on the front lighting, and figured id order 50+ of each, but i may go with a m/f covered spade or pin style connector instead and just liquid tape them
A little old of a thread, but since i couldn't find 24V incandescent bulbs at the parts stores, i figured id buy a pack 12v (figuring they were multi-voltage) LEDs for the rear. I got the LED version of the 1156, installed in my park/run sockets and, well, the results were 50/50. The right side...
correct, they do not. there are 3 bulbs in the front and rear light housings, 1 is park/svc/running light, turn/brake and BO drive on the very bottom. I was going to clean the side maker lens, noticed the bulb receptacle was heavily corroded, ended up robbing from the other truck bc i twisted...
Well, soldering wire #2 from the regulator to the connection point of where it was broke off from seemed to fix the no charging. I was hesitant at first since i was getting OL on my meter without the output wire connected. I said screw it, what could go wrong and connected the output wire...
Let me see if that is the issue with that alt, by using the other regulator. if it works, then i'll reach out for a replacement resistor, and hopefully i can get the other alt soldered back, then i'll hang test it, and hopefully all is well.
